  • How old is Federer here?

  • you should see the other guy

  • his strokes are exactly like sampras here i guess to get federer's forehand you would need to start at the sampras forehand and modify upon that foundation

  • just the average day that for roger. lol

  • is that other guy kei nishikori?

  • @linsaemi LOL, come on! Nishikori is 21!!

  • @linsaemi

    He is Jun-Kato (25.10.1980) .

  • he acts like he doesnt train hard but hes an animal

  • @AnAmazingForehand Yeah, He even plays like he doesnt try and he obviously doesnt show it in practises or warm ups matches but for a guy who has 16 slams. Im sure he worksout like theres no tomorrow secretly.

  • lol 2:40 always makes me laugh

  • The Greatest of all time!!!

  • Guess what I'm doing tomorrow :)

  • The machine being used on his legs is called a Compex. It pumps electricity into the user's ligaments to contract and relax muscles rhythmically. Great supplement for adding sheer muscle, but will often take 2-5 days to recover (based on the intensity of the session). The watch is a heart rate monitor. It is useful for essentially determining how hard Roger's working.

  • @sinhatennis thank you

  • Have yet to see serious weight training program for any pro tennis player of Youtube.

Power strength and speed is developed by maximizing "absolute" strength. And you don't do that by jumping around cones, jogging slowly on a tread mill, playing tag, ....things that should be used for little kids (stage 1) stuff.

  • @Flyyyy look at any pro tennis players legs. they're huge because its pure muscle. to play competetive tennis you need fast-twitch muscle fibers and agility and speed. not bulging muscles. id say federer and every other pro tennis player has plenty of that, given that they can snap their arms and propel themselves to hit serves 120mph+ and change direction on a dime to hit balls coming at them at average speeds of 60-70 mph. can you do that?

  • Even in his awkward stage, Roger was still attractive.

  • his weight training technique is poor lol

  • Did they just attach the rope to their penises and pull?

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand thats why hes the greatest tennis player to have ever lived.

  • So 90s

  • That's really interesting how he was trained at a young age. His beautiful footwork has roots in all these drills is obvious.

  • he looks like ashton cutcher in some parts :)) best tennis player, love him

  • Federer made Acne look cool

  • what that at 3:28 whats he doing?

  • @peRFectjaguar I think it could possibly be testing his muscle responsiveness or something. Or maybe it's like one of those ab burner thingies, but for his thighs. MAYBE THAT'S WHAT I NEED TO BECOME THE NEXT LEGEND!!

  • @peRFectjaguar That is a muscle stimulation machine. You put on adhesive patches that transfer electricity to the muscle and make it contract. It's just like those stupid belly belts that shock your abdominal area. Often times it is used for muscle repair from injury but it is also used to build muscle.

  • I wonder if he still trains like this now

  • Well those footwork exercises definitely worked xD

  • bad case of acne that Roger had..

  • anyone know the kid hes training with?? wonder what happened to him.

  • @AceGuitarR7 His name is Jimmy Chu. He failed at life eventually.

  • @AceGuitarR7

    He is jun kato

  • at 0:22 the coach is looking at rogers watch saying... dont worry in a few years time youll have all the rolex's you want

  • @AceGuitarR7 he used to have Maurice Lacroix watches?

  • who would've known he'd be the greatest...

  • LOL he was just a little snotty kid here. Cool video, man.

  • lol 0:42 was as if he just won a grand slam

  • @math27899 this is federer for sure you're a dumbass

  • @math27899

Hey math freak ur an ASS for saying that

    YOU ARE BLIND!Thats all:P

  • @TheLovemeorgo sorry that was my little brother hes really dummy :P

great video and sorry about him

  • @math27899

    Hehe no offense :P

Wow I look at my comment and i am like O.o "Never knew i can write like that"

    Anyway...

  • asian guy = Kei Nishikori

  • @mengky11 that can't be Nishikori. he's 8 years younger than Federer - assuming Fed is 18 in this vid Nishikori couldn't have been more than 10 at that time. Plus the Asian guy seems to have 1 handed backhand here.

  • @mengky11

    really?

  • looks like a very young Federer.

  • 0:12, it's a federer's signature, he does it every in the beggining of each new match !!! cool....

  • what are those leg attachments called?

  • @cys12141 it's Wilson 85... they don't sell them any more... but they do have

K factor ProStaff88.. I have this one.. (I think) it's the best racket ever!!

  • @MrFederer Yes it's a Made-in-Taiwan Wilson Pro Staff Midsize with a little lead in the throat

  • so u do this for like 20 years, and u still wont be federer lol

  • please let me know if you recognize the racquet at 1:38.

  • oh sweet federer skips rope

  • @casketofdog some days of workouts all pro boxers do and remember boxers are probably the 1st or 2nd most fit in the world do jumprope/ jump workout days

  • GREAT video, mate........This is great to see (especially for junior players with lazy tendencies). Federer looks so effortless when he plays, where a lot of players go out and try to look effortless themselves, but are simply lazy. This shows just a glimpse of how arguably the greatest player ever got to the point where he looks so effortless.........A lot of hard work behind the scenes. Beauty.

  • he looks so skinny here

  • awesome...

  • The position at 2:40 is the reason why Mirka has twin

  • @littletennisking Yeah, I'm sure Fed didn't let the training go to waste.

  • @littletennisking LOL THAT MADE MY DAY!

  • who is he training with

  • lol fed in puberty xD you can see his pimples hahaha

  • 3:30 it's official, he's a cyborg...

  • Stupid training methods, I predict he'll never amount to anything.

  • @dodododa he only amounted to the greatest ever tennis player

  • @liud128 i think he was being sarcastic there buddy

  • @infoowetrust

    ... no shit sherlock

  • @liud128 sherlock is the shit...i guess u didnt see my sarcasism...d'ohhh

  • Stupid training methods, I predict he'll never amount to anything.

  • wtf is 2:40 what is that lolololo

  • nice video..thanks

  • rafael nadal the best tenis player

  • @aclaudioz09 how about instead of "tenis" put a "p" infront instead "t"

  • lol :43 fed is like hell ya

  • Sometimes I feel trainers are even more important than coaches.

  • man those work out looks fun as hell. i wanna try all of em.

    that does look like nishikori.

  • @DarthCho bahaha they are fun as hell. but when you start doing the reps youll feel like ur in hell. Especially when we do the reps on different terrain.

  • @DarthCho Not at all. nishikori is way to young to have been here

  • Comment removed

  • man he looks young here !! must have been at least 10 years ago !!

  • Is that Kei Nishikori?

  • Tough stuff.

  • Eeeww pimply roger.

  • You can tell the asian guy would have been the best player of all time if Fed wasnt favored in all the drills.

  • @loopba ROFL. The trainers are not the reason Federer is the greatest of all time.

  • how many weight is he bench pressing there?

  • Comment removed

  • @jesusnevaexist they look like technogym 10's to me, on a bar weighing about 8.5 kgs, so 28.5 kg. If not then it's 48.5kg if they are 20's, but keeping that up at that speed would be tough. Difficult to tell with those weights due to the camera angle but I wouldn't be surprised if they were 10's and he was developing explosiveness and aerobic performance. Lots of reps nice and fast with little strain on the body.

  • the machine at 2:41 has to be ackward for anybody.

  • I think he practices the serve from a platform to work on the explosive movement to the next shot. i.e. serve and accelerate either to the net or into position for attacking ground stroke. The aim would be to reduce contact time from landing the serve to moving to the next ball.

  • Who's the asian dude?

  • @mraznmanandy maybe Federer's partner

  • I'll try the serve from a stand drill. Looks like it perfects your toss and makes you always have the same motion for the serve

  • Why does he serve from a stand? I though the drill was to serve on your knees so when you serve standing you push the ball farther

  • 1:38 Wilson Pro Staff 6.0

  • And still not a bead of sweat on the dude!!! what a man!!!!

  • ahh so this is why fed is so much better than everyone else. he spends his time ferreting around with a little asian kid.

  • @Crosby4hyg hahahah that actually made me lol

  • Federer,the acme poster boy!!

  • at 1:46 he was practicing his serve on a platform..do you guys know how this will help his serve?

  • on comprend d ou lui vient ce jeu de jambes exceptionnel et ses reflexes incroyables, les exercices ou les balles vont de tous les cotés bravo

  • amazing vid. thxxxx

  • I think he's lost weight since then.

  • Really interesting drills here... not just strength and endurance training combined with quick feet and hand-eye coordination.

3 tennis balls with 3 different colored dots tossed at fed all at the same time and he has to hit them in order... very interesting.

  • thks alot for the clip man,

  • o, man, what a treat!

Thx Soooooooo Much for uploading this video, thx man, tens765

by watching this, I now know how Federer can dance on the court, he should really thx to his coach to build such a consolidate fundation from his earlier career life. otherwise, he would never been this much success!

  • that makes everything about federer's amazing footwork in court have sense!

  • Fed before he met Mirka :-)

    Swiss tennis center

  • anch'io mi alleno così... :-pppp

  • what song?

  • what is song?

  • this must be the year he lost

  • Hey douche, I didnt add the soundtrack, all I did was capture the video clip and post it here, K????

  • @tens765 The Asian guy is pretty tight with Federer. Where's he now and who is he?

  • that player is juliaba kilka....national champion

  • Who is the player training next to roger?

  • nice video! very rare!

  • what are all those wires at 3.30 used for?

  • as you can see, the quadriceps attach to the patella. if one quadriceps muscle is significant stronger than another muscle, then it will pull the patella in its direction. for example, if the vastus lateralis(lateral quadriceps head) is much more developed than the vastus medialis(teardrop-shaped inner quadriceps head), then the patella will be pulled laterally. this can cause inflammation of the patellar tendon since it is moving a bit off of its fat pad and synovial capsule

  • So do you mean it's to check if both quadricep muscles have similar strength

  • yea, the wires check activation. I ate the 500 character count limit in my last post and had to edit it down a bit.

  • @jewbinson it´s called tense, it´s usually used in physical therapy for treatment, ( I have done it for tendinitis, still am) the electric current produces stimulation, which increase the blood circulation in the particular area, where the electrodes are placed.

  • @jewbinson just to correct myself , it´s called tens, not tense..
