That is part of the culture, and yes could define it as cruel, but what I consider really cruel is the American past time known as Rodeo Bull Busting. If bullfighting is banned then it becomes economically unfeasible for the farmer to rear this breed and it will go extinct. There are more economical alternatives for any other uses of cattle such as meat, milk or anything else. Banning bullfighting will ultimately result in the extinction of these bulls. There is no doubt, however, that it is cruel.

From the bulls of view I don't think they would possibly care if their breed cease to be. These were animals specifically bred to serve the bloodthirsty affluent payers and players only a few short years ago in comparative terms to evolution (-300). The world would be fine without them and I'm sure they would be glad they didn't have to undergo a slow stabbing/bleeding to death as a way of being slaughtered also.

@feathers666 yes but in this case you fail to see that despite the slow and very, very cruel death, these bulls actually have great lives. The way they are reared is second to none. Not only this, but the average age for slaughtering cows for food is 12-18 months. Bulls on the other hand live to 5-6 years.
I wouldn;t worry about the horse too much. I see your concern but the armour they wear is seriously thick. Not only that but they are huge horses and don;t get much affected by the bull.

Bullfinghting is Practiced through out most of the hispanic speaking countries including parts of France, and of course in Spain. That is part of the culture, and yes could define it as cruel, but what I consider really cruel is the American past time known as Rodeo Bull Busting. Now that is really cruel, mean, and a real shame practiced by some of the Rodeo Heroes and by many others. Sure would like to see a 60 minute program about it. So easy to criticize other huh?

I'm not saying this is right or wrong, but I don't think it's right for people to believe that the matador should have died/been killed. Does that really make you any better than he?

If it was at all fair, the matador would have been left to fight the bull one-on-one regardless of injuries. The bull is injured and continues to fight. The matador is injured and is wisked off to the hospital. You sir, are not brave or courageous. You are a coward.
