I think if anyone is going to see him live soon should chant out Machete and see if he plays it then hopefully someone will record it as well. I would be glad if he came over and played in the UK.
@StopRunningKid i know, right?buckethead is my favorite musician of all time.songs like machete are the ones that you'll hold dear until you die.he's the reason that i'am learning to play electric guitar.
@defconslunk Oh hells yeah. Just saw him three nights ago in Austin. I wish I was back there. He gave me a toy and I touched his guitar, best night of my life. I actually cried when he came out, haha. Anyway, dude I know what you mean. He's the reason I picked up a guitar and his music has helped me in so many ways. I find it funny that I discovered Bucket the day after I had an out of body experience and became religious. He's the best thing to ever happen to me and his music is a miracle.
It's kinda hard to say whether this is Machete or not. Colma used many similar riffs and progressions, and the opening progression was definitely Ghost. However, ESPECIALLY in his live versions, COLMA tracks were usually meshed together... This begins like Ghost, but builds and plays like Machete. I'd say it's safe to say this is Machete, for those who said it wasn't...
@ClonicTonic in ghost he plays an a minor, d5, c5 chord progression over again as a rythym, and hes tuned half step down. in machete he plays the same thing in standard but without the first and last note of both the d5 and c5 chord progressions. this is definitely just an improvised version of machete. just reinforcing your point. rock on.
there was a better video of this live i think it was from like 1995 i remember the video the was some kid dressed as the green power ranger in the 1st 20 seconds, i cant for the life of me find it, i found it in the on of the other machete video links someone randomly posted it
Are you a brand new Buckethead rare footage and audio collector? Welcome to the group. You probably know this, but you should talk to Bunghole about getting some rare stuff. I have some rare stuff too if you want some stuff, but nothing extremely rare. I however already have audio of Best Regards and every other Buckethead song along with a few concert vids and songs.
@ShadowsBetweenTheSky Yeah, Bunghole is a real cool guy. I've talked to him plenty of times. He was the one that told me where to get a lot of concert audio. Yeah, I'll come to you or Bung if I need something and if you want something... well I have some, but Bunghole is where you get the good stuff. There is one concert though that I really want, but he doesn't have yet. Oh well.
@ShadowsBetweenTheSky well i think this is one of the few times some one recorded it, it is pretty cool i was hopping to hear the song in its Fullest, this version is a little light on Buckethead's end even tho its a tight ass solo
@ShadowsBetweenTheSky It might be.. I have put one up from a concert dated 1998-09-18 (the same date as this video) slightly different recording. strange
This guy sure has a lot of varied music styles a little of this sounds like a touch of the smashing pumpkins.
