  • how does that make you horny treize123?

    ur a dick.

  • the melody of this song is amazing. the saxophone solo makes me horny, and astrud's voice just finishes it :)

  • There was no such thing as a "five minute" hit song on the radio in 1964- so the recording's original length was "adjusted" for radio airplay and the "45" single. It's kind of like watching a "trailer" before seeing the complete film....

  • I remember my mom and dad listening to this song when I was a kid. A much more innocent time. This song influenced Barry Manilow when he wrote Copa Cobana. Very cool song. I sometimes I wish I could go back to the early 60's. You can keep the late 60's.

  • perfect song for wen your stoned very good...

  • thumbs up in Curren$y - Breakfast brought u here

  • I remember playing this for my high school jazz band. Good times.

  • Astrud's voice is heavenly, but when Getz's saxophone comes in, the goosebumps really hit. Thanks for the download of this classic original version.

  • Part of this song was in the movie Rio

  • i love this song but if you ever listen to the lyrics you would not really want to listen to this.

  • @thenutellatheif Yeah you're right the lyrics are just awful. About some hot girl who is walking by a bunch of guys who are looking at her and one of them falls in love with her and she doesn't notice him. Yeah it doesn't get much worst than that. Utterly amazing that the song wasn't censored back then......What's the matter with you?

  • I hate people who say they only learned and heard this song from the big bang theory. :|

  • @CarlulousEE uh... you shouldn't hate on the people who found the song through the big bang theory. I mean come on--not everyone gets the chance to hear this beforehand considering it isn't the type of music that you'll regularly hear on the radio or pretty much anywhere else. Instead of hating on others, why not appreciate the fact that the song was given more recognition?

  • sounds like a dream far away I live in a dirty inner city and dream of places like this

  • I've heard of a version in which Astrud Gilberto is preceeded by a male singing in Portuguese. I can't seem to find it. Will someone be so kind as to tell me who that male signer is?

  • @CreideikiRox it might joao gilberto.

  • @CreideikiRox On YouTube's _Nocaro has it with the Portugese in it...I like that version, too.

  • First time I heard this while driving down an empty highway in the middle of the night in winter. And that's how I fell in love with this song.

  • Pure beauty and class.

  • Janitor made me come here

  • If it is possible to fall in love with a song I think just have.

  • amazing quality...thanks so much...!

  • Yeah...this IS the BEST version...period

  • @Guitarocactyl if you're talkin about music this is the best...the others seem to let so many other influences influence them...evry song does not need to display every aspect of a player's ability in every bar...yet it seems The West is plagued by such gross over display of ability...to the point we allow the chase (musically speaking) to be overshadowed.

All art is conservative...by the discipline that it requires.

  • This really is the greatest version of this song. Everyone seems to trying to get to this one but they can't touch it...

  • Ahhh... This is what summer in the city is all about. It's 40 degrees outside, the breeze is gently moving the curtains, I'm laying on my bed with pillows all around me, thinking about what to wear tonight and this song is playing in the background. No school, no worries... Just sweet, hot, summer... :))))

  • Hilarious. Just want to be in an island, with a coconut laying around with my ray ban wayfarers...

  • Ooooh! Best version.

  • !!!(",)!!!

  • Rio Brought Me Here

  • BARLOW FTW!!!

  • ive heard this in despicable me, i found it!

  • @WhatThePresidentSays also in Rio the movie, where Rafael was singing to Eva

  • witsypuk

  • This is the version that I love!!!!thnx for uploading

  • my Brasilian boyfriend sings this to me in Portuguese <3

  • xDD 329713

  • THis song is awesome!

  • This sounds to me like the original version on the disc "Getz & Gilberto", in which the song is sung by Joao Gilberto with his wife Astrud singing it in English in the middle - but, for this repackaged version, they've cut out all the bits with Joao singing! I'm sure its the same recording - the Stan Getz sax riffs are very distinctive.

  • @federicosegundo

Yes, it's the same recording as the "Getz/Gilberto" version with Joao Gilberto starting off the song singing the Portuguese verses. But that version is over 5-minutes long, way to long for a single back in the day. So for the single (which is this version) they cut Joao's part altogether, and cut 4/5ths of Stan Getz' long mid-song sax solo too.

  • i like this song
