They forgot "None of the above". In general, this county does little or almost nothing compared to the numbers that are pardoned or ignored.

Mexico wants to require its immigrants coming to Mexico to learn Spanish and get permission. Imagine that. The same country that expects us to open our borders to everyone.

Overall though, it seems like the topic could have been handled a little better. It is an issue that most want to ignore or look the other way. Imagine that in the Southwest -- ha!

oversimplified story with pathetic questions that do not allow children to be critical thinkers. Teach them American values the before mentioned "Give us your poor, your tired, your huddled masses longing to be free." and ask them what it means to them and yes present the argument from both points of view. Give them open ended questions and allow them to contribute ideas. I teach 3rd grade and they are very capable. This is dumbing down our kids.

The immigration laws change every 10 years. Their have been quotas in the past many directly racist: i.e. the Chinese exclusion act. I mean I understand that you are trying to be "patriotic" hence your name "Yankee", but I don't agree with you. You can cry law all you want. @cbrito05 Dude, thanks for being racist! I never brought up race. The current illegal immigration laws say NOTHING about race or nationality. There are however, exemptions made for minority races for quotas. At this time, MX doesn't meet that status. And this country isn't going to take to allowing 10 million illegal immigrants, 80-90% of which are from MX, given asylum status. So I suggest YOU endorse the fact that most of the US doesn't want them here & your opinion is in the minority.

This assignment is completely inappropriate. This is racism being taught in a 3rd grade classroom. This school district needs to be severely reprimanded, and the teacher fired! Many of students in these schools may have family or they themselves may be undocumented, how dare they socialize children to hate who they are. This assignment is in no way constructive to an education. I am completely disgusted.

Law is a social process, the law is created to be effective in the context of a society. The immigration system is evidently broken.
