great. thanks for the interest. i'll be getting to some more vids, and instructional stuff as well, fairly soon. just finished recording a project, now mixing and mastering, etc. then planning for another round of vids......
Thanks palaflux. funny you should ask. one of my projects for this year is to do an instructional vid for jazz and overall advanced guitar. i'll be posting some excerpts as i go, so you might want to subscribe to be updated..........
so i've been playing for 15 years, but never took a lesson. I know how to build chords, the terminology, basic scales/arpeggios, a good bag of chords to naturaly use, yet I always have trouble putting it all together. What would you suggest, music theory lessons or something else?
thanks dru. unfortunately i do not have any tabs or transcriptions for these. i just kind of let them evolve as i play them. one day i'll write out a few arrangements for my students and maybe make them available..........
Oh man, this one really kills !! I love it ! You're an awesome jazz players. Reminded me of joe pass in the style, and grant green in the tone. Think I'll try some gretsch to play with my organ trio for the more twangy but still warm tone...
thanks, tim. well, i certainly stole enough licks from joe pass. i love grant too, all great players back then. i really love the gretsch tone, good twang without the tele hum. cool looking axes too. looking at some bigsby sgs now.........
Wow...who would have thought a Gretsch could have "stepped out of the box" into the realm of jazz voicings! It reminds of the Gibson J Smith model. Very nicely phrased, too.
Thanks JM. Not me......I just loved the guitar at Guitar Center and grew up with the whammy bar. My favorite tone was always Chet for any type of clean, chord stuff, and the 6120N was a sweet, versatile guitar without the feedback issues of the 6120s. Traded a Heritage for it and it's a keeper.......
cool : )
