Kids should not be bused almost 2 hours a day to get to school and back. There are already kids from southern WV that ride the buses for 3 hours or more a day. How many times did they ask you to back away? Were you arrested? You can take pictures without getting that close. You don't need to ask for name and badge numbers. Everyone is on film right, plus all the officers patrol units appear to be parked outside. Highschool kids know that the units are all numbered and assigned to individual officers. Also by policy every officer there must file a report which is public record and you can get the name that way as well.

I'm not from W.V. However, I am a police officer. Most people seem to think that when we tell someone to leave a place that when they refuse we have some other recourse other than arrest. We don't. I am very proud of the West Virginia State Police, Charleston Police and the WV State Capitol Police for their actions. There are plenty of protests that take place at the WV capitol complex in Charleston. My mother works there, and I hear about them from her all the time. None of them ever end like this. Most are peacable and the police are happy to leave them alone and let them do their thing.
