To those of you who keep saying the kids were paid, they weren't even THERE for the dirty song. The song that he sang to them was completely clean. He went back to the EMPTY classroom after singing the clean song, sang the dirty one, and edited the dirty one over the clean one with the kids. 3. Most youtube videos, although not to children, have much more suggestive themes

This is one of the saddest things I've seen in the news lately, and that's saying something considering I was reading a news story about a 13 year old father earlier today. He shouldn't go to prison for this, especially for 20 years, that's just crazy. It's bad enough that he's already lost his job and this will be with him for the rest of his life. Plus now something else that I fear may come from this is a debate over what can and can't be posted to youtube or the internet in general.

This is horrifying to me. That someone could innocently do something they thought at the time was harmless and get jammed up with a potential 20 year prison sentence in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. All he did was use faces without permission. Shouldn't that be a civil rather than a criminal trial? @TyroneDeChimp Are you mentally ill? He didn't expose children to vulgar sex stuff, you twit. He sang a song to the kids, then recorded a vulgar song WITHOUT THE KIDS and edited the videos together. Are you 80 or do you just seriously not understand technology?

The kids weren't even present for that song, he sang a regular song to the kids, then recorded him singing another song alone in the same room and then edited the two videos together. The parents are saying "Think of the children", the children who never heard the song, will never hear the song, and were never probably going to hear the song in the first place. You wonder why the rest of the world thinks of Americans as fucking morons!

@matthewkb16 Calm down now arrogant Canadian, and take a few deep breaths. First of all, you are the moron considering you made a blanket statement about Americans. Was arrogance your best subject? Is that the best your school district could do? Second, you can't even make your point without using profanity. Is your vocabulary that limited? Third, as a mom, I can understand both sides of the coin. I'd flip my lid if my child's likeness was used in any unauthorized way.

What the heck do American people as a whole have to do with this incident? NADA. As for Evan, I feel for the guy. While he made foolish decision using those children (at his unauthorized creative discretion) to make some slick video, the media attention alone is punishment enough. He wanted exposure, he got it.

I was in no way insulting America other than stating a example as to why other people say they hate it. Yet the first response you come up with is calling me an "arrogant canadian". You're such a hypocrite I can't even do anything other than feel sorry for you.

@kittywhiskerz Wow and here I thought I was actually having an argument with the person I originally made a comment to. I mightn't speak for the world been when you are to other places of the world and the tour guides there warn you before starting just to make sure you don't have the American flag on your backpack/clothes because of the way people there feel about america... you tend to get the hint "hmm something tells me they don't care too much for that country" I never went out and said
