OK I know this is a question kind of defeating the purpose of the concept of a Vegan cook, but can the Soy creamer and yogurt be replaced with dairy versions without exploding in my oven?
I bake with yogurt all the time, so that should be fine in the oven. I'm not sure what she's using the creamer for, but my guess would be moisture, so I'd probably use either milk or cream in its place.
Butterscotch is actually just the flavor of brown sugar and butter cooked to a sort of "caramel" (I put parenthesis because there's no real caramelizing going on). The light hints of butterscotch you sometimes taste in chocolate chip cookies is brown sugar.
The crackly top and golden brown color is the heating of the brown sugar developing the butterscotch notes.
I liked the delivery on this episode, like landofpeppertoast said it is not too fake but there is still a little bit of humour in there. She is a great cook i think and just likes to get to the point, which is good! x
hey hannah, it's liz (kamutliz) -- these look soooooo good. I can smell the brown sugar, ack, yum! and I like your delivery, dry is great, fake smiles are awful. :)
(smileys are acceptable fake smiles, tho)
(I am so making these maybe a week after thanksgiving when I can think about food again)
I was just about to ask where is the butter scotch?
