There are many people I admire for being talented. Kevin Smith is one of the few that I could see myself hanging out with. He hasn't let success taint his view of the world and is one of the most intelligent, introspective people I think I've ever heard interviewed.
Also, I have never seen anyone who had so much to say...how many of these videos exist...DUDE NEVER TURNS DOWN an interview....LOL

Am I happy he didn't direct Good Will Hunting? You bet! Imagine GWH w/o that soundtrack and the drama. It would be another Chasing Amy, which was great but not a masterpiece like GWH.

With all due respect to Kevin Smith, he's not exactly a ground breaking movie making genius. I enjoy his interviews and he is a really entertaining and funny guy on camera. But c'mon! How many classics has he made? His most recent films have sucked some big balls. His best movies were obscure, low budget creations. Now that he has million dollar budgets he can't seem to get anything working. He is a one trick pony. Long winded monologues and ass jokes are getting old.

Some things actually did. I don't think that's too far fetched to assume. You know what though, I have a different level of expectancy when I watch flicks. I watch film to be entertained and considering I am an optimist. I usually commend "bad" films by seeing what was done right. Then again, I won't watch a flick I know I wouldn't enjoy. That's my filter.
