This is not only a great song in and of itself it honors Smokey Robinson, a winner and musical icon. I love the sound of ABC. They put out some really great songs. This is a fantastic song; I love it. Thank you for having the music of ABC. Thank you and it is appreciated.
In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.
Retro Song of the Day....A tribute to Motown legend Smokey Robinson by 80s pop group ABC from their album "Alphabet City". It was in the top 10 for the week ending October 3, 1987. Notice the little riff from Smokey's hit "Tears of a Clown" in the background.
This song refered to Motown legend Smokey Robinson, it even features the melody from his best known song tears of a clown in the chorus!!, briliant tribute by a great band! ABC ROCK!!
yes...for being a pop rock band.....they had funk..pop...classical...and everything else mixed into a cool sophisticated vibe sound...i love this band even tho i wasnt born until 1990....but the lead singer has a perfect voice...i love his voice....its so angelic in a way and then very deep down and rich at times....this song was perfect..it had a 50's sound but 80's at the same time too
@pmsan29 Ain't that the fucking truth. I wish I could go back and buy up all the music I can. I really miss the 80s, one of the 2 best decades of the 20th century (50s also). I also want to go back and relive my days in the 80s. Don't know if I'd change anything much or at all.
I was 23 what a great time in my life 1987...xx

well the music keep coming.. the 70's - 80's and 90's we had new bands each week
I thought it would never end - How wrong i was!
I didnt realize how crazy we looked in the bars in the 80's ( parachute pants etc...)
But it was a great time to grow up with all this music!

Your cousin has allot of talent. I still have the 45. It's songs like his that won me over to the new music of the 80's.
I was raised on 50's and 60's top 40 and spent my teen years in the 70's.
The 80's were a new direction in music. Lucky for us that allot of it was very good.
Tell your cousin that a member of Erasure will be in Dallas on 9-19 at Station 4.
Too bad Martin can't stop in and surprise them.
