  • What is the marker for??

  • warning: base edge technique shown looks wrong.

why? The tool used has no control over the angle when doing the base edge, it is designed only for the side edge.

The advice I've read is that base edges are best left to the pros and you can do your own side edges using a cheap tool, as he's shown.

Running the file very-very lightly along the base edge to smooth it out, etc, seems fine, but he is actively doing the base edge with no control over the degree.

    Groundhog574 has better videos.

  • "little metal shards"

  • I fell asleep :/

  • Damn this is like a relaxation video. Barely made it to the end of this vid without falling asleep

  • Would you recommend a little bit of oil on the edges to protect from rust and moisture?

  • i live less than a mile from the evlution shop. warehouse, so dope

  • this guy is so depressing

  • @TheHio24 He's professional.

  • When you mark like that you put your hand such that you run your fingers on the outside edge against the board with the pen held firm and fixed. By pushing your hand against the board and keeping everything still you get a perfect mark that follows the contours of what ever you are working on. I am not sure my description is good...

  • You're like Owen Wilsons son, so relaxing to listen too :)

  • Can I use regular steel wool?

  • Just bought the Demon edge tool shown in the first half and the gummy stone. What are the different degrees for 88 and 90? 88 for base and 90 side is my guess.

  • @SnowroxKT other way around... 90 for base so you get a nice flat bottom all the way across and 88 for side so it angles slightly towards your feet giving you a sharp edge to grab on with.

acute angles ftw! obtuse angles = washout

and about this video... if youre gonna do this yourself de-burr your edge before you sharpen and dont "muscle through" the the whole thing, a little finesse goes a long way.

  • Should you do this after waxing?

  • @Chett07 Do it before you wax

  • i fell asleep

  • i fell asleep

  • Great job - thanks!

  • How many degrees to you detune your edge? Do u leave it 90 deg?

  • Seriously. You're putting up a disclaimer but can't even spell!? Reccomend? Argh.

  • So you want to be running the edge file along the board so that it is rough?

  • Great video and great tuning kit, thanks.

  • Best video man. simple, exact and no BS.
