I know I'm gonna get punched in the mouth for this, but Tidus from 10 was a WAY better character than Cloud. Reasoning: his dynamics. Cloud doesn't really change that much through the course of his adventure. But Tidus gets a complete over haul. In the begining he can't lift the sword, crys like a baby when things get rough, pouts, has daddy issue and won't accept situations as they are. By the end, hes enthusiastic, confident, comes up with plans, dares to rush in, and stands up to his old man

He, Lulu, and Yuna went through spiritual hell in that game. Never mind that 10s religious institution very closely mirrors Christianity. The demise of Yevon, which is basically Spiras entire social structure was painful and watching those three come to terms with that was inspiring for anyone at a low point in life

The theme of world saving highschool students that act older and more mature than they are, gets old after a while. But in 8, the highschool students WERE high school students. So their overly emotional responses in the game (or in Squalls cases the lack of almost any) was appropriate. Squall is one of the most dynamic characters in FF history. He starts out as a dark and brooding guy that doesn't trust anyone, including himself, and by the end he smile, accepts friendship and actually feels.

FF8 was easily, EASILY one of the best in the series. Better than 7... I mean, I enjoyed 7, don't get me wrong, but Cloud was a terrible main character (I'm so tired of amnesiacs with a military background). And Sephiroth gets 1000 points for being creepy and kind of badass and having a kick ass theme song, but as a character he was about as flat as they come. (Oh no my Mom was an alien and I have been bio engineered for greatness! Ah! Damn my eyes!)

I hate final fantasy viii but the soundtrak and graphics was quite good considering it was for the ps1. Besides that plot and characters are bad, the villain just appear near the end and just says nonsense. the gameplay had great ideas but badly executed.

Before you enter the Lunatic Pandora and after you get the mission request from them. Laguna says that they need to talk after the mission. Kiros will says it's hard to believe that they're related. Ward will "say" he looks like his mother.

Final Fantasy VIII, a game that many people regard as being dull.

I've played through this game, and I'll admit, the plot was not that great, though it showed potential and was still moderately enjoyable. Most of the characters I didn't really care for. However, the music was really enjoyable and the gameplay rewarded my style of play. Gong in battle with low level and unprepared rewarded me with fun and challenge and didn't require much boring grinding. The game isn't perfect but it can be fun

I like how this song is both a battle theme and, to my opinion, a summation on who Laguna is. Despite being in sometimes serious life and death battles, Laguna always seems to keep his cool. He's scatterbrained and so laid back that death himself could be staring him in the face and he could just look the other way or find some way to unknowingly cheat death. He's just a happy go lucky guy with the apparent seriousness of a child unless the situation says otherwise.
