dont you love the government figures for how much people/kids drink a week! Its usually like upto 5 pints of lager a week lol. The latest one i heard was kids drink upto 15 shots of vodka a week. LOL 13 year olds and younger will drink a litre of vodka, plus a load of cider, plus a load of lager in one night. Raising prices and age limits is not the answer, changing our culture is, but I dont see how we can get a similar culture to France, Spain or Germany. Their civalised, we arent lol.

If you ban high strength alcohol you are simply gifting another lucrative industry to organised crime, it is much easier for kids to purchase alcohol from organised crim than from a shop! Hypocrisy at its worse.

Yet in the countries where the limit is lower than ours, less people drink and they dont have this binge drinking attitude. (and their taxes are lower so a pint is less) It's just something that has developed, but i dont think putting the age up higher is the way to tackle it. I have watched my 24 year old niece die from liver disease through drinking, Alcoholism is a cruel disease and more needs to be done to raise awareness of the effects of alcohol on young people. We need better education, most kids and lots of parents dont even realise that you can actually die from binge drinking.
