Private schools (for the most part) are awful. Not only are the environments largely negative (aside from schools like Montessori or Khabele schools, which I consider completely different from what people like you think of as "private schools"). They also discriminate against classes and race. To presume differently is just stupid.
Public schools are suffering because we don't care about education in this country (and don't invest money in it).
Public schools are terribad because of the nature of governments. To try to briefly explain why, because it would take like 10 comment boxes at least to go into any sort of depth into this matter, most of the money going to public schools aren't spent on the schools facilities or faculty because money doesn't need to because there's no competition to create the need for better and bigger schools.

David Letterman busted on former President Clinton, Monica Lewinski, Catholic Priests in general, and President Bush - among others. I have not found Letterman to be biased in his abasing. I stopped watching his show due to that, plus his new liking for showing violent content.
Letterman was one of the FEW interviews - liberal he might be - that actually was fair in who he had on his show. He had on Obama and McCain for instance. Unlike most other shows who dissed the Republicans - Letterman did not. I believe the outrage when I hear it fairly in relation to everyone - even Pelosi and Monica Lewinski. Eminem debased quite a few well known and successful women - Palin was debased more in his viral video than on Letterman.

Private schools (for the most part) are awful. Not only are the environments largely negative (aside from schools like Montessori or Khabele schools, which I consider completely different from what people like you think of as "private schools"). They also discriminate against classes and race. To presume differently is just stupid.
Public schools are suffering because we don't care about education in this country (and don't invest money in it).

Public schools are terribad because of the nature of governments. To try to briefly explain why, because it would take like 10 comment boxes at least to go into any sort of depth into this matter, most of the money going to public schools aren't spent on the schools facilities or faculty because money doesn't need to because there's no competition to create the need for better and bigger schools.

This is untrue, there are small, private schools where I live that do very well.
You asked me to elaborate on levees. Most public school systems are required to put budget increases up for a public levee (local government vote) - this is one of the only remaining places such a system is used. If we funded public schools like we funded the military, we would be MUCH better off.

This argument isnt valid against public schools its only valid against the way our current government is set up, and the way budgeting is decided for public schools refer to my previous post.
The notion of private schools competing with each other, and thus thriving and providing better service, teachers, etc. is a wonderful idea on paper nowhere else. Im not advocating for no private schools, Im arguing against your stance of zero public schools.

People could be members of an association, much like today, which would be a private group that gets paid a monthly fee to keep the area in general good shape. Also, i don't know where you get it would cost "far more" then any government toll road. It would be affordable or people would find other means, just like they've always done.

Just to get this out of the way, i'd like to mention that i'm more then reasonable about my views and i'm more then willing to change them given reasoned argument and evidence. It's not some overbearing dogma that is immune from anyone else's thoughts and opinions, my ideology that is.
That said, if i'm not mistaken, wasn't it governments combined with private interest groups that gave birth to the corporate monsters we have today? I think more government equals more... (cont.)

Hi Compatriot PB. First off you are right. Now my opinion on Letterman. I really believe David's writers made the mistake to bust on the wrong daughter. David Letterman busted on former President Clinton, Monica Lewinski, Catholic Priests in general, and President Bush - among others. I have not found Letterman to be biased in his abasing. I stopped watching his show due to that, plus his new liking for showing violent content.

Letterman was one of the FEW interviews - liberal he might be - that actually was fair in who he had on his show. He had on Obama and McCain for instance. Unlike most other shows who dissed the Republicans - Letterman did not. I believe the outrage when I hear it fairly in relation to everyone - even Pelosi and Monica Lewinski. Eminem debased quite a few well known and successful women - Palin was debased more in his viral video than on Letterman.

The comment "he went on to say he was not referring to your 14-year-old daughter" was not made at the time. It was an excuse made days later. But Lauer did not state that. Lauer gives the misleading impression that Letterman tempered his humour, but he did not.

CBS has always been democrat and NBC has always been for republicans(92 presidential debate was only shown on ABC). They are not always obvious and a lot of times they are very vague(sometimes subliminal like the movie Dune on CBS and Shogun on NBC during every election since 84). Matt Lauer may look like he is defending Letterman however his job was to assist Sarah Palin. Matt Lauer tried to defend Letterman? So Connie Chung wasn't fired from NBC?

I do think its a well known fact by now that politicians are just not best parents. I do like Chelsea though. She is my favorite and she is great I think(not that her parents were so great).too many kids I know went to same university with her(OSU). I cannot see Palin becoming our next president

If Palin had said, "I know Dave was talking about my 18 year old daughter, it's the same worn out joke everyone tells, but the daughter that was here is Willow, she is 14, and for that reason we are offended."
