infact, he never uses it. it's supposed he can, but his very final attack is the solar kamehameha, the one he uses against gohan in the final battle. in bt2 he has the spirit bomb, but in bt3 it was corrected and in fact he has the solar kamehameha for ultimate.

I thought the Spirit Bomb was supposed to be made of all good energy and all that. so the how the flip the Cell use it. In the series he did mention that he knows about the Spirit Bomb but he shouldn't be able to use unless he collects all the 'bad spirit energy' or something

Cell does not have to abide by the laws of the techniques he uses. Remember when people sense his ki they don't sense Cell, they sense Goku mostly but everyone else as well. So his ki is not always evil.

Actually you don't have to be good in order to use the spirit bomb. The spirit bomb just uses the enrgy of living things around the planet, regardless if the user is good or evil.

I don't know, Gohan was only attacking Cell when Cell tried to hit Gohan, since Gohan was just toying with him all the time. Cell could also have just used a Solar Flare, escaped, hidden, and started to prepare a Spirit Bomb.

The Spirit Bomb takes too long. The one that didn't even kill Freeza took forever...in order to kill SS2 Gohan...it would take way too much time. Since Cell had no buddies to cover for him while he was creating it, Gohan would just find him and nail him. Also...Gohan could just turn back to normal and reflect it back against Cell.

Still...it would have been cool.

Well, Cell is pretty smart, can hide his energy, and can use the Solar Flare technique. I really think that he could have pulled off a Spirit Bomb at that time with all those abilities. And, if Gohan reverted to normal, and bounced the Spirit Bomb right back at Cell, the latter could take advantage of that, since he's much stronger than base form Gohan.
