@settle4more. You have your facts a bit mixed up. Farrah left the show after season one. She was replaced by Cheryl. Kate was on the show for until Season 4, she didn't leave the following season. She stayed for seasons 2 and 3. She was replaced by Shelley Hack, who was replaced by Tanya Roberts. Farrah was obligated to do 6 episodes 3 during the second season and 3 during the third season of the show. She was never obligated to do a show when Shelley Hack was on the show.
@gookiemusic That isn't right either. Kate did two seasons and Farrah came back while Shelly was there I have pics with the four of them (plus cheryl and Jaclyn). Check it out. Not a big deal though!
Back in 1978, Farrah went to the Academy Awards ceremony and received a lot of flack. At the time she was being sued by Arron Spelling and being the powerful force he was, he blacken her name and made it hard for Farrah to secure good roles. Everyone wanted the most famous blond in the world in there movie at that time but no one dare go against Arron Spelling and the pending law suit. She was actually VERY brave to stand up to Spelling and his goons. Ultimately they settled the case.
Upon Farrah's return to Charlies Angels for the 6 episode out of court settlement reached between Arron Spelling and Farrah Fawcett, Cherly Ladd reportly felt left out as the friendship between the 3 original angels was firmly intact despite Farrah's walking out on the show. Farrah did not want to be there. After Kate left the following season, Farrah came back to fulfill her agreement. Farrah had no scenes with new angel Shelly Hack. Farrah did not appear on the last season.
Jaclyn and Cheryl are such class acts! Cheryl is sooo sweet and I think she was a HUGE part of Charlie's Angels....she went in a filled a difficult spot and did it well....
Cheryl & Farrah never had any problems getting along - and they only acted together in 6 episodes.
Jaclyn & Cheryl became very close, and they both got along well with Shelly Hack and Tonya Roberts.
But Kate Jackson, who remained good friends with Farrah and Jaclyn, was upset about Farrah's leaving the show, never gave Cheryl a chance and wasn't very nice to her.
It was always about the original 3 angels. Even in the movie, Cherly, Shelly or Tanya were never approached to participate. Drew Barrymore many times had meeting with Farrah, Kate & Jacklyn about making at the very least a cameo appearance in the first film. She was VERY disappointed when all 3 original angels had no interest. Farrah was offered millions. Kate said she would agree ONLY if she could play a villain. In the 2nd film Jacklyn made a cameo appearance.
Baloney!!!! I remember Farrah telling Barbra Walter this quote: Returning to work on Charlies Angels was a painful experience. When asked how she and Cherly got along, Farrah said to Bab's that the situation was uncomfortable at best. Farah was always the professional as was Miss Ladd. You can probably find that interview Farrah gave Barbra Walter here. It was a special Bab's had which included a separate interview with Cherly Ladd,Bo Derek & the Divine Miss M.
Interesting seeing Cherly Ladd comment on Farrah Fawcett. they never got along. When the out of court settlement was reached that brought Farrah back in a guest star capacity on Charlies Angels, Farrah was quoted as saying those episodes were painful to do with Cherly Ladd and that the situation was difficult at best. Kate Jackson never like Cherly and eventually left the series when her contract expired. The rating slipped after 2 stars left and the annual search for the next angel began.
@settle4more That is not true. Farrah never had a bad thing to say about Cheryl. Cheryl always has said that even though they weren't close they were always professional, Kate on the other hand is another story.
@settle4more It's not that Cheryl and Farrah didn't get along. It was just obviously tense. In the Charlie's Angels Casebook, Ladd was quoted saying, "She was not warm, to anyone, because she really didn't want to be there. but she was very professional, never rude and she got the work done." The two kept things professional, which makes sense.
@settle4more And the rivalry between Jackson and Ladd was always reported as being much bigger than it actually was. In the beginning Ladd said, "Some days Kate was speaking to me, some days she wasn't." After filming the episode Circus of Terror they went to Hawaii to shoot Angels in Paradise and the three ladies shared a trailer and used the opportunity to clear any tension between them and things became civil afterwards.
@TruthinMe44 Sounds good in theory...but Kate was NEVER accepting or kind to Cheryl....Cheryl was and is to this day a class act....sad to say...Kate was and is to this day not.
You are definately wrong about Farrah thinking that working with Cheryl was difficult....Farrah did NOT want to return because she wanted to do other things in her career but she NEVER said anything bad about Cheryl at all!
