  • love thouse FAL rifles

  • @sass225 yeah but they were a bastard to hump and the 7.62mm could definitely give you a hefty kick

  • @MrAgm65 The basic load of ammo in WW2 American Army was 80rds some men carried 3x that amount. these days with 5.56 our solders carry 400rds just about all infantrymen I have talked to have knee and lower back problems from humping all the weight. Thank you for loading this is it from the 80s would still be good material for ROTC classes and people interested in military history thanks to my grandfather Lester Maddox Sgt US Army WW2 iv been life long student.

  • @MrAgm65 The M16a2 was the rifle that I am most familiar with I like it loads just like a pistol straight in without rocking the mag back. the SS109 rnd was designed to penetrate soveit body armor. I am glad that the military has came out with new ammo. In somalia there were militia men hit 3-4 times shot placement is crittical to stopping someone but battle is so much difernt from shooting targets that dont shoot back.

  • @MrAgm65 Seems the kids are using alot of high tek gizmos these days red dot and acog sights flashlights[which I like for indoors importantant to know what your aiming at] The house searching tech that solders used in Iraq are the same as serving a high risk warrant like on a suspected crack house.

  • @MrAgm65 I agree with u I can shoot 5.56 all day but 100 rounds of 7.62 can start to feel punishing after awhile. I like the adjustable stock of the M4 but losing 4" of barrell does afect terminal performance at ranges past 300 yards In city fighting maybe not a big deal but there are places in afganistan were you can see people much farther than than if there moving.

  • @sass225 Well in my days carrying and using the L1A1 SLR (often Vietnam vintage) I always found it a solid piece of kit but as I wasn't that big in stature the kick from firing would often bugger my aim. I remember one night shoot on the range where I was particularly woeful (course the SLR wasn't really at fault, I was a lousy shot with it lol). Then I was given the chance to use the plastic fantastic M16 which was better suited for me.

  • @sass225 We were always told that the 7.62mm Nato round for the SLR would kill through its straight hitting power whilst the 5.56mm M16 had better tumble capabilities, hence more likely to incapicitate. Another bennie of the M16...when I used it we had no bayonets for it, so on bayonet drill using sandbags filled with cow's intestines the poor SLR users had to lend us M16 users their beasts, we got them all gunked up and got to hand em back lol.

  • @sass225 by the way you want a solid piece of an infantry weapon to conduct drill with, the SLR was a heavy but easy to use tool of the trade. From present arms to firing a volley over a graveside and rest on arms reverse you knew you were putting on a show that required strength and precision with the L1A1. Call me biaed but the likes of M16 variants, Austeyr and other bullpup 5.56mm don;t carry the same imprimatur on drill as a good old 'slur'

  • @MrAgm65 At my Grandfather funeral M-1 garands were used by the honor guard. I guess Ill always miss him Im thankful that he taught me history and what Duty to ones family and country mean. The British PM gave a wonderful speach after the riots about people talking about rights but ignoring the responsibility that goes with the privledges of being citizens.

  • @sass225 there not actually FAL rifles there SLR's which is slighty different to a FAL

  • @iNOBBOx Self Loading Rifle Im not sure what the difernces are but I like the SA58 para model made by dsa. I like The .308 round cant fire it on auto and control it like you can 5.56. Some have told me that Im a dinosaur for my opinion. but I was raised by a WW2 Sgt and he taught me that hits are what count in battle spraying lead in the general direction can help you break contact but only if the rounds hit close enough to make them hesitate and seek cover

  • I love how, at the end, he's sitting there in a fancy art gallery with a large gun. Gotta love the 80s.

  • "GET OFF YOUR RIFLE! GET OFF YOUR RIFLE! IT'S NOT A WALKING STICK!" hahahahhahahahahahahahah fucking quality.
