In my opinion, the comparrisons to the doors are obvious: however when i saw them live i drew equal vocal comparison to an early Ozzy. Their music had incredible ambiance, far more than the doors, and more like early Sabbath with all the atmospheric elements.
I think the band is the best band out today..Love 'em!...But this guy is no Jim Morrison. Vocally this guy is amazing. I def hear hints of Morrison in his vocals. But Morrison was MUCH,MUCH,MUCH more than vocals. Jim just absolutely 100% couldn't have gave a fuck less what anyone thought of him. @otherside65. I respect your opinion, however, i must encourage you to look further into their catalog if you have not already, as they are my favorite band. They made six full studio albums in Jim's lifetime, all very diverse and independently subjective. Also try to more fully hear and interperate the lyrics, as they have multiple meanings, and it was truely Jim's words and litterary illusions which powered the music....
When I first heard this, I freaked out...it was like Jim Morrison had returned to us. Our generation has a chance to hear the psychedelic prowess and thunder of The Lizard King's voice, though not in its original splendor. But still, its close enough to bring a smile to my face and do the Indian dance of the eagle : )

The black angels are an amazing band and they write some good songs, but everyone needs to realize that they stand on the shoulders of anton newcombe the brian jonestown massacre... so anyone who says they are the best psychedelic band of this generation, does not listen to enough psychedelia to realize who truly is the best and started the revolution. Do yourselves a favor and listen to anyone of BJM's albums from 1996 and be prepared to be blown away.

@otherside65. I respect your opinion, however, i must encourage you to look further into their catalog if you have not already, as they are my favorite band. They made six full studio albums in Jim's lifetime, all very diverse and independently subjective. Also try to more fully hear and interperate the lyrics, as they have multiple meanings, and it was truely Jim's words and litterary illusions which powered the music....

When I first heard this, I freaked out...it was like Jim Morrison had returned to us. Our generation has a chance to hear the psychedelic prowess and thunder of The Lizard King's voice, though not in its original splendor. But still, its close enough to bring a smile to my face and do the Indian dance of the eagle : )

the dead weather and jack white are twats. how in the world does this compare in any way to the dead weather? shut up, listen to the song, stop comparing, and enjoy it... if you people think that the only good bands out there are the black angels and the dead weather, then you need to look harder. there is plenty of great psychedelia happening right now.... the dead weather, however, are nothing close to psychedlia.. jack white is like a coca cola commercial.

The black angels are an amazing band and they write some good songs, but everyone needs to realize that they stand on the shoulders of anton newcombe the brian jonestown massacre... so anyone who says they are the best psychedelic band of this generation, does not listen to enough psychedelia to realize who truly is the best and started the revolution. Do yourselves a favor and listen to anyone of BJM's albums from 1996 and be prepared to be blown away.

The new album is much more upbeat, and rockin' than thier previous release. Dont get me wrong I love Directions to see A Ghost. This is much different. Congrats Black Angels, on another success!
