For me, there are 3 options of what to do with this:

1. Use the same songs as the Japanese version, but DUB IT BETTER.

2. Use the same songs as the Japanese version, and give us subtitles. (Keep the voices Japanese. And maybe throw in how to pronounce the Japanese words, so we can sing along XD )

3. Don't release it at all.

Tetra is right in so many ways; there are VERY few voice actors out there that sound good when trying to dub Japanese things. This has nothing to do with being "wabanese," as you say - it's more a matter of fact.

The real problem with bringing this to the US is that the idol*particularly how the game present it* is strongly tied to modern Japanese pop culture, and bringing that same concept over here would no doubt bring to mind flashes in the pan groups like Dream(USA girl group), Otown and 98 Degrees, groups whose relevance damn near went out the window when the new millennia rolled in. On top of that when we think of US songstresses, girls Like Christina Agulera come to mind, not these teeny boppers

Hah, if I didn't know better, I think they got Brenda to sing an english version of The Idolm@ster (Brenda also did an english version of the ED song for White Album).

It'd be funny if they attempted to localize iM@s, but yes it would dismally fail. The stereotypes that work in Japan don't work anywhere else, not to mention that just rediong ALL the songs would be a total pain. My advice to you: Start drinking heavily--I mean, learning Japanese. >.>

This MAD is terrible, and it simply gives people the wrong idea of the game. What's up with the graphics, though? I own the game, and it doesn't look as bad as this. An English release would require English subtitles for songs, and English dialogue. Unfortunately, the original game has way too much text. L4U doesn't have much text, so it's more accessible for non-Japanese.

This is highly unlikely, though. I'd translate the game if given a script.

I think there should be American voice actresses with the original Japanese songs. Liscening(?) may be a problem, this will show up if you use American songs as well.
