  • I was into this band in the early 80s. They are far to politcal for todays music. On one of ther singles (cds nowadays) they had a plan of all the nuclear bunkers in the uk. They attacked religion, big buisness, polatics, war etc.

check out securicore cares. Its about private armys that protect the rich or should i say ther money. They run our prisons now(in the uk).

Thank christ bands like thsi are not allowed to exsist any more. telling the truth and all that.

  • homophobic? i think you have them confused with some other band pal.

  • Awesome:)

  • @1Gsxrider do you know anything about ryan harvey's music...perhaps you are too punk to listen to anarchist riotfolk that doesnt tour major venues...like crass is next feb in my home town...please do your hw before you critisize ps:i love crass just saying

  • @MrJoman333 You might need to do some homework too... Crass is not playing. Steve Ignorant is. Go to the Southern Records youtube to hear why.

  • Fail !!! If a poet writes a poem why have a fool recite it ???? those lyrics are supposed to be sung with conviction ... maybe our freinds across the pond have missed the point againnn

  • awesome!!!

  • fuckin grate!! xD

  • A Ryan Harvey cover of Crass? Fuck yeah!

Ryan's awesome. Met him once at the Philly infoshop.

  • wtf

  • good but not spikey enough, go suck a safety pin!

  • nice work, my only complaint is that your smiling and singing in not a serious manner, this song is serious

  • cheer up. have more fun.

  • ryan harvey is such a cutie :)

  • aww why not the whole song?

  • aww ur so cute

  • not bad

  • Yes. Crass were all about homophobia and being British. i'm glad you learned that through listening to them - you certainly didn't miss their message, id you?

  • I've known Ryan since middle school he is one of my oldest and closest friends and I've worked with him in many different groups over the years and for you to say something like this just shows your ignorance. You clearly dont know a think about Harvey so lets keep our uneducated comments to ourselves huh?

  • It's all about the message.....not the singer or the band......think for yourselves!!!!

  • you all need to lisen 2 toxic waste\burn the flags

  • zakster - i don't like crass, but that's kind of a ridiculous statement to make because of the subject matter of the song

  • I wish I new that song and you at that time

  • haha amazing

    a revolutionary man

    singing a badass song

    up the punx!

  • fuck off ,i don`t need hippies advice

  • Zakster99, yeah, this cover isn't good. Crass covers never are, but there are some really great American punk bands. Germs, Dead Boys, Bad Brains, MDC, DRI, Misfits, etc.

  • also Penny had the benefit of the finest english private education to form his viewpoint, the rest of us are too busy trying to keep our heads above water."Opting out" isn`t an option when you`re skint.

  • ever heard of leftover crack/choking victim/star fucking hipsters? Lead man Stza or sturgeon is poor as fuck and spent significant time in squats in lower east side NYC yet he educated himself thoroughly on the lies and injustices of the american political machine. all it takes is a minute amount of effort, you dont need to major in political science to be a legitimate, organised anarchist.

  • Heard it all before 25 years ago,now fuck off and go read your album covers ,i bet you`re parents are fucking loaded go fuck off and save the planet

  • Actually, my parents, while middle class, are certainly not loaded, and are struggling to with bills and to put me through college, part of which I will have to pay for. And I don't just read album covers; I read a various books, both fiction and nonfiction. So thank-you, I will go save the planet, while you sit on your ass and do nothing with the rest of your life.

  • Sorry, that last one was me. I was on my brother's account.

  • lol

    enjoy yo`self

  • typical fucking yank fucked a classic song up

    leave the punk to us

    ENGLAND ENGLAND ENGLAND

  • i hear ya brother, getting crass 20 odd years after ?

  • LEave the Punk to england.... Yeah because we all want another sex pistols, and a new subculture that promotes racism. Im not saying that their arent bands that come come from england that arent amazing (The Clash) but your ignorance is pretty unbareable.

  • Punk didnt even start in england asshole. NY was the first place punk started and it got exported in the seventies

  • who gives a fuck?

  • nobody

  • right...it started thats all that counts lol

  • Yeah, who gives a fuck? (Brit punk was much better)

  • Certainly not me. Or anyone that matters. =P

  • Punk started in England and New York... Good punk started in California and D.C.

  • ha i dont listen to much US 80's hardcore any more. those guys all became tame old men, just like rock n roll was. henry rollins is still cool, but hes not a revolutionary or anything, keith morris is ok but its so stale by now, and TSOL is still a good unit but its lost its impact. I mean they have the same old liberty lovin songs but it doesnt mean much. crust punk stuff, and true political/anarchist bands is where all the energy is now, cont'd.....

  • Punk went underground again in the last few years and its great to go to the real underground shows again in basements and whatnot, like it used to be. you can see great local bands and some touring bands in the underground network of basement venues and thats what really draws me. I also dig all the crack rock steady bands, cuz those guys are livin it everyday since the 90's. all those 80's band just play commercial venues every now and then.

  • 80's hardcore up my butt! L.A. Punk!

  • actually it was michigan. mc5 ring a bell? the point im trying to make is, everyone has different opinions on this. no one knows the true origin of punk. velvet underground, mc5, iggy pop. no one really knows.

  • Carloop, True anarchism is rooted in achieving peace. That's the point. Anarchism and violence/war cannot coexist. Awareness and nonviolent action are goals that Crass (as a collective & as a band) was promoting. Read the preface to Love Songs.

And before you pass judgement on the amount of money someone else may or may not have, remember that it is all a situation of birth, and Penny Rimbaud was upper middle class. Search 'Penny Rimbaud Interview 2007' on YouTube and watch that video.

  • What have you done to affect change, carloop? I know I could be doing more, but I've at least helped out people that were less fortunate than myself. That's a start. What have you done? And why do you think anarchism and peace are antonyms? Capitalism and the State are extremely warlike institutions and the antithesis of peace and happiness.

  • hahahahahahaha. i like this. he sounds ilke a preacher cuz of the acustics. fucking great. love it.

  • Not to be "closeminded" or anything but is he homosexual? In all seriousness.

  • his voice is a fucking discrace to crass

  • ur a disgrace to crass by saying that.

  • wow didn`t think crass had reached the usa

  • Yeah! I'm wearing my "Destroy Power Not People" shirt that I made right now. Only the cool Americans know about Crass though.

  • craas promised the earth and achieved nothing ,anarchy and peace?lol

  • Crass told people to achieve anarchism by participating. Although they might have been pacifists, they did not advocate sitting on your ass and doing nothing to affect change. While they did not achieve world-wide anarchism, or even anarchism where they lived, they managed to galvanize countless generations of people to participate in the anti-capitalist and anti-authoritarian movements.

  • Until, that is, the anti-authoritarians got old and created another generation of unbalanced, self absorbed, selfish 'followers of the faith'... it's like we never learned. What happened to our minds, let the souls be refined??!!!!!

  • I came in my pants when I saw this.

These guys never make it over to play in Blighty, so it's up to you as concerned, err, dissident American citizens to upload more of these on youtube.

    PLEASE.

  • niice.

  • Steve Ignorant in disguise - fucking brilliant!

  • that is fucking badass

  • haha, fucking great cover

  • boxcar books.

  • where was this? i just got back from pix fest...i saw photos of this show on flickr with craig salt peters and spoonboy and others...

  • hell yea
