I doubt it is talking to a bird. It appears he talking ABOUT the bird --to you. That cat wants you to go get the bird and give it to her/him. Afterall, you are the one the kitty depnds on for everything else. I hope you made your apologies.

I had a cat that used to make that same sound. My poor cat ran out the door and got hit by a car. RIP Toby......i miss that sound every time he seen a bird. It was the coolest thing.

it looks like she's part manx. I had one that was part manx. Pure manx have NO tail, part manx have a stub or a shorter tail. It was weird to see a cat with a full tail when i got older :) She also used it to express her disgust....it looked like she was giving us the finger :)
