For people wondering who higurashi people would be I have an answer for takano, rika and hanyuu. WARNING MASSIVE SPOILERS

Rika would obviously be bernkastel and Takano would be Lambadelta. (Higurashi was the game that Bern beat lambadelta in by preventing the deaths in june 1983)

But Hanyuu is a less obvious one. She would be Featherine Augustus Aurora. The kanji in Hanyuu's name roughly translate as Feather In. Feather In=Featherine. And AUgustus AUrora =auau. Oh and there's the horns too

Can't really agree with you. Mystery and/with romance fans like Umineko better while horror, generally psychological thriller and slice-of-life fans like Higurashi better. Also, it depends on preference of culture (Japanese traditions and Western legends).

The problem is that you have not plyed the games the makers of the anime choose to cut awy most of the humor it where a LOT of humor in the orginal umineko games and it where much more funny than the higurashi humor, but sadly it got cut away in anime, In higurashi DEEN choosed to cut away information, in umineko they choose to cut away humor and characterisatsion (dont know how to spell that) and umineko is a LOT longer than higurashi so making an anime of it is hard.
