did you get that thing working pretty good? Mine's missing the rubber plug also, but does not drain down anyway. Problem is it takes forever to pump it up. could you tell me how many pumps it takes to raise yours say for instance 1 foot? so that I can figure out if mine is any good?
@ICUC007 missing the plug doesn't affect the efficiency of the hoist. mine is missing a plug too. I bought it brand new and used it only once then the plug came off or may be I lost it somewhere. I added oil to it and it's working just like it worked the first time. You may be need to add oil.
"cherry picker" came from the hoist used to..you guessed it..pick fruit. the name applied to any small crane, but stuck to engine hoists because the dead engine you are pulling out of your car is "cherry".
rebuild kits for hydraulic pistons are cheap. depending on how much pressure you are losing, it might just be from not being used enough. raise it up and down a few times with some weight on it and see if it is all that bad.
dang that cherry picker looks almost new what a score!!!and sorry to hear about your cow but look on the bright side now you can eat steaks and burgers for a good while lol
Why do they call it a cherry picker? When I clicked to watch this video I literally thought it was something used to pick cherries, even though it makes no sense. lol. What kind of motor does it have?
I had no idea you had cattle. Sorry about your cow, though.
@themaritimeman Im not really sure why they call it a cherry picker. Im not sure what motor you are talking about, if your thinking about the crane it dosent have one, its basically a hydrolic ram with an arm attached to it. We have 7 cows now, we just eat them ourselves, we don't sell them or anything but it still sucks when one dies, its a lot of hamburger we don't get to eat lol.
@Smoott69 I think I might take one of those rubber caps that are on the bleeder screws of calipers and stick it in there backwards. That ought to fix it lol
lol cool

Sweet deal. Free is the best price. Those rubber plugs are cheap if you dont just slap some duct tape over it like I did on my free picker.
