  • That is a nice wooden stand you have there. I have noticed that mixing all the ingredients in a jar before pouting into a bucket helps a lot too. Thanks.

  • @SandyEggo529 Thank you. The stand just makes it easier to keep things together. Doesn't really add anything to the process. I agree on mixing in a jar first.

  • whats the catalyst made of?

  • @jean9910 The worm compost catalyst contains seaweed extract, humic acid, mineral powder and some other things. I get it from grow organic dot com.

  • hay how do you get compost?? like can you buy it or do you have to make it and does it smell?

  • hey gary what ever happend to the worms, after update 3 i cant seem to find anything else on your worm bin.?

  • @tlgarza05 Yea, I've been lax in updating the worm composting. I'm nearly ready to put a new tray on and harvest some castings so I'll do a video on that.

    Regards, Gary

  • oh and by the way you can view my compost tea and leave a comment if you like. :)

  • can i use fish oil from supplement capsules? thanks in advance :)

  • @JeusisLord1 I'm not quite sure how you want to use the fish oil. Adding it to the worm tea or instead of the tea? There are many fish-based garden supplements but I'm not sure about the oil. Good question.

  • @garygardens Ill let you know after I water my plant hahah :D God bless :D

  • I like the hole idea and i did apply it to my garden,

i live in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where weather temp is around 40's Cent grade Celsius and above that. In winter is about 20's Cent grade Celsius. My Q is how many times you can apply this method to the garden trees and shrubs? is it weekly, monthly or other than that?

  • @spacehma Thanks. You certainly have warmer weather than we do. Even during our summer, your winter temps would be warm here. I'd say you could put compost tea on as often as you liked. The more, the better. There's nothing in it that would harm a plant although too much would probably be a bit wasteful. It's great stuff for sure.

    Regards, Gary

  • What mix do you have in the jar?

  • @lourdesmac It's molasses (unsulfered) and a catalyst I buy from Peaceful Valley Supply. It has seaweed extract, humuic acids & mineral powder plus other goodies for good bacteria growth. I mix it in the jar just because that's easier than trying to stir it into the bucket directly.

  • Well Gary, your video was the end of July - I didn't see any sunlight?? Normally in the PNW we have 90 cloudless days in the summer. Was the garden portion taken with some fog? Thanks for the video! Dave

  • @19Photographer76 Thanks for the comment. It was early in the morning, I think around eight, and because of large trees the sun doesn't hit my garden area until close to 10 AM. Otherwise, it was a splendid day.

    Regards,

    Gary

  • great video Gary

  • @sugerbear520 Thanks. The worm tea works wonders. In winter, we use it indoors on houseplants and, now, seedlings.

    Regards, Gary

  • Good video my friend, however whu not put your finished compost tea into a 1 gallon pump sprayer and use the spray wand to get under the leaf as well as on the top and the soil? Your video has made me want to go and make more compost tea :) Have fun!

  • @ArizonaAdventures Thanks, I'm not really trying to foliar feed which is why I don't spray. My mixture hasn't been strained either so it would likely clog up a sprayer. Later batches I just poured on the soil.

  • great video! Just wondering, why sprinkle it on the leaves? why not right into the soil for the roots? With a curious 2 year old at home I don't think I'll be able to try something like this for a while, but I can't wait to see how the garden reacts! Love the updates, Gary, take care!

    -Katie

  • @bcgarden2010 Katie, I'm still pretty new at making and using the compost tea but, from what I've read, sprinkling on the leaves feeds the plant plus will add some insect and fungus control. I do also pour it on the soil. This method of making tea creates loads of beneficial microbes and bacteria that are supposed to do all kinds of wonderful things. So far, so good and I can see some results. I'll do a garden update next week. Thanks, Gary

  • nice setup you put together. your plant are loveing you ..great video

  • @pinetar100 Thank you. The plants do seem to be responding. I'll keep it going for sure. Regards, Gary

  • Super video! That sure looks a lot more attractive than Miracle Gro (I hate that stuff, forces the plants out of the ground far too quickly). I haven't tried the compost tea but I'm going to have to because the reports are good.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • @baconsoda Thanks Brendan, So far, I'm really liking the tea. It's easy to make and really stretches the compost. Next batch will be worm tea. My garden is drooling already...

    Regards, Gary

  • Extremely well done video, thanks Gary! You have an absolute eye for detail. I'm going to implement some of these ideas. Take care...and wow...that's a nice froth on that brew

  • @rawutah Thanks. Tea is the way to go, I'm convinced. Next batch will be worm tea!

    Regards, Gary

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

  • @marito001 Thank you and you are welcome. Thanks for watching.
