after suspicious minds, burning love was the only that made it to the top 10 on billboard. burning love. it did not get to #1,but he did get to #2. in 1973, "raised on rock" made it to #10. if tom parker would have accepted the offer to elvis by barbara striesand to play the part made with kris christopron parker.. tom parker, elvis' manager did not want him to. elvis' dream was to be an actor. parker wanted to continue in the songs. when" loving tender" the movie made parker swallow his cigar.
I sing this to my slightly plump Dachshund. Great song. Just forced 3 nephews under 10 to listen. They liked it! Gotta pass on Elvis 2 the kiddos and doggies too.
Anyone watching this because of the ending of "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past"? This song, to me when I heard it in the movie, was like the spirit of Michael Douglas. Great song and quite a sweet movie.
The price some celebs pay to live in a fishbowl like he did. Michael Jackson, Jim Morrison, Jimmie Hendrix,,etc.,, Drugs, and such an early death at age 42,,so sad,,This song is so great,, like a lot of others he made, Jan. 8th was the kings bday! long live Elvis. Jailhouse Rock on!!
had Elvis actually seen action and died in the Army he'd have been immortal. or at least more so than he ended up. this (great) song is unfortunately the high point of his post armed forces career. I know this is sacrilege, but I really feel it's true. and I am a big Elvis fan too, so please don't flame me too hard.
What makes this song special is that it is proof that Elvis was never at a lack of good material and ability, even late in his career.
Though he was, by this time, an American institution, there was, none the less, a large sector of the music industry and culture that considered him passe.
Along comes this catchy and powerful number and he has his first #1 of the '70's.
His natural charm and appeal will always endear him to the public.
Did you know Katy Perry doesn't have a single song on Youtube with under a million views. And this one only has 87,000 whaaaaat?
