That's awesome! I know the city of Toronto in Canada runs trucks that are painted almost exactly the same as these trucks.

our trucks are mostly white and have mcneilus bodies and most of the trucks run with usually one driver and two or three route helpers

Nice system, I really like the pay as you throw idea, especially when applied to manual collection. And these stickers seem much easier to use than only being able to purchase approved marked bags. Great video, 5 stars for sure.

Thanks for the stars! I noticed that even some of the local gas stations sell the "trash stickers." Pay as you throw works great for people that only throw out small amounts of garbage, and in this area, recycling pick-up is free with no sticker required. Talk about an incentive to recycle!

No I meant the sound at 3:15

The sound at 3:15 sounds like the packer's "high idle" starting, probably because the driver put the truck in Neutral. On some trucks the high idle will automatically turn on (if enabled) when the packer is running and the truck is in Neutral.

These guys are bloody awesome, how friendly can ya get?! They go pretty fast too, very skilled and efficient... especially how the driver reverses uup to the main pick-up points. Like the bag-tossing at the beginning with those two pack cycles as well. Terriffic video, great to see some more manual footage! Definitely a nice catch you made :)

Appreciate the thoughts! Every time I've seen these trucks, they've been fast. It's not common to see many 3 person crews in most parts of the US, so it's interesting to see how fast they can work.

LOL, yeah I've noticed that many government (usually public works department) garbage trucks move VERY fast. The axle in the middle is usually referred to as a "pusher" axle, it can be raised and lowered with a switch by the driver to balance out the load. Some drivers say it helps give a smoother ride when the truck is heavy. It also allows the truck to weigh more because of the extra wheels, so you can pick up more trash.

SWEEET!!!! im gonna get a granite state collectibles truck like that they can mount a FG mcneilus rl with a intl/mack granite/mr or freightliner chassis, and then customize it with the company or city of your choice
