I got 4AGE 20 valve Silvertop in my 91 Corolla. It's one hell of an engine. Done 210km/h easily, fully stock. Fun engine!

i have a tranny from my Toyota 12T engine and i assume its a

T50 because its 5 speed and if i pair to 4AGE 20v BT/ST

do i need to change the bell housing of my tranny ?

@maxnanabas09 no but if u get the bell housing from a gts tranny you can keep the clutch slave away from the header!

@maxnanabas09 yw max, i'm in the process of replacing a starter on a BT 20v gen #1 mr2.

So i'm still in the learning curve on this, i loved the old muscle cars from the 60's but they can't compare to new school cars.

Also look into header wrap if u can't fond that bell housing, in the mr2, the 52 tranny can mount the starter on either side, the guy i bought the car from on sun told me he replaces the old one, i hope it's the newer one.

To already had a Blacktop 4AGE, this time i won't lose time with that, i mod my 7afe...way faster on the track with his low rpm power and torque peaks. It doesn't sound as great but i think it's a greater engine for race/daily use.

@daymkimchee It's a metallic box with oem rubber velocity stacks in it. This box is easy to be removed. The oem stacks are not that bad but everybody changes it for better ones.

4-AGE is like the only I4 engine to have 20 valves, i never heard of any other engine in it's class achieving that.

Audi made a 1.8 liter 20 valve engines as well, albeit not as well designed as the 4age 20v.

Yep. We're talking about the same engine. It came in Audi A4 1.8T cars as well as a number of Volkswagens.2002-2006 Yamaha R1s also come in 20v arrangements.

yeah there is a mountain of aftermarket and standard parts available for the 4-AGE, you just gotta know where to look

sure can, in fact most of the 4-AGE series engines were front wheel drive to begin with, finding a FWD halfcut shouldnt be a problem, good luck with the project, the following on the video are FWD, 0:31, 2:11

Taking a 4A-GE from an 1992 AE92 is ideal. It's FWD. I have a Redtop 4A-GE in my 1990 Corolla XL-i :D:D

I just bought an Corolla 1988 4age gts twin cam(for $400!!) and im loving it!!! :D runs great and good acceleration!!! i love cars from the 80's and 90's. These are the true racer cars. 2000's and up are all like eh.....can't wait to built up my car :)
