  • @TANISHAADJO ha, if you dont use it, you lose it : ) i am about to make a ton of new pre algebra videos (arithmetic, gcf, stuff that your 5th grader may be seeing!) so check back soon. you may also check out youtube.edu for educational only content. good luck!

  • Wow test tomorrow and you helped me alot!! Thanks bro!

  • @McSoccerplayer18 good luck!

  • I have a different way to do this,i decided to call it PFT(Prime Factorization Technique)I am only in 6th grade and im a master at that,so I didn't need to watch this one.but thanks anyway!(OH BTW You saved me on one of my assignments like 2 months ago,so thanks your awesome)

  • How about Euclidean algorithm?

  • Thank you very much :)

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa <3 saved my life !

    Simple explanation ! Loved it

  • @patrickJMT i was doing my homework while listen to this am in middle school and this is so werid but to u i think am gonna own math

  • @debatinghealer ha, i hope you do! good luck in your studies

  • Brilliantly explained! We're homeschooling a highschooler this year and my math skills are 20+ years old, so my GCF skills are dim :) Thanks for this resource <3

  • @jadjwarner glad it helped! : ) tons of algebra stuff (and much more!) on here by me

  • You stepped through the last one too quickly, why isn't it a negative?

  • why do you pull the smallest power?

  • hmm.. I wonder if you can apply this in programming. but the restriction is u have to use addition or subtraction only in finding the gcf for 2 integers. helped me though.. ^_^ thanks.. and uh... great voice.. =">

  • LOL what happen 2 ur poor pen?

  • what happens if you breakdown 2.6-6.5-2.21???

  • if you use factor tree, then it would be more organized!

  • i think most left handed people r smart lol .... anyways thankss alot by i watch alot of your videos and it helps me alot expecially by refreshing my memory for finals

  • had trouble understanding the power part but thanks for sharing GCF lessons I really needed the help ;D

  • great teacher ! thank u soo much ! :D

  • i envy you...i used to be good at math but when i enter college i dunno what happened...you're a genius...thanks it helps a lot...

  • i envy you...i used to be good at math but when i enter college i dunno what happened...you're a genius...thanks it helps a lot...

  • Very Helpful, subscribed and liked. :)

  • Nice video. The attached video (Invasion of the Prime Numbers) can help students memorize the prime numbers up through 53. The chorus consists of the primes from 2 up through 53. Knowing these primes can help with GCF problems.

  • why can't my teachers be like you man!

Thanx a lot! and keep doing ya thingg ;-p

  • Thanks soo much for your time and dedication! Really learned a lot here!

  • Good!, what about if we have big number.

  • Thank you! I needed this to help my son with his homework.

  • THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH

  • i didnt get the last one

how did u get 2-x 2+x and all dat :S

  • great video

  • what happens when there are no common numbers?

  • Thanks so much! My math teacher stinks and I went on-line looking for extra help. You were perfect and so much more clear than he was. Made my day!

  • Thank you,

You showed enough examples where it is now hammered in my head.

  • Fail... Thumps up if u agree thumbs down if you dont

  • wow i think i got it right thanks but if i get it my grade'll get lowered to maybe from a c+ to a c

  • Do these trees work with addition? or just multiplication?

  • Thank you for this video. This is the easiest way to GCF I have found to teach my fifth graders. I used factor trees instead of just listing them out and it worked great, thanks!

  • love your videos and do more i need help for shsat

    make videos for shsat prep

    ;]

  • wow. math is way better with a smooth voice and permanent markers.

  • dude your videos are so brief awesome and informative, keep making them!

  • A big thanx

  • thanks so much!

  • Great video Patrick, I don't have a big problem with common factors, but I often don't actively seek them out.

  • man this so helpfull i have my exam in a few weeks and this is the only thing im not good at so thanks

  • Thank you so much! Its funny how you forget the most simple lessons!

  • Very good thank you so much, I learned something I will never forget. just that quick!!! WOW.

  • I love this video keep doing them, this is what we need teachers that in brief time teach us what takes many time. Amazing i'm exited about this

  • @DrLuveh i got stuff all the way through calc 3, so come back as often as you want!

  • @DrLuveh math was a little to difficult to get im in 4th grade but do pre algebra and calculus

  • @DrLuveh hey

  • thx for the video bro

    helped out alot, cheers

  • what about -x^6, -11x^4, -22x^5

I can't figure this one out

  • Would you really need the "2 to the 1st, or 3 to the first" that seems redunded.

  • thank you so much!!!! but if the denominator is a^2b and b^2ac then how to solve that?

  • @jahnavimdave Terms repeated? a and b but not c, lowest powers? a^1 and b^1, so GCF: ab

  • @jahnavimdave your common factors are a & b. You could express it as ab(a, bc)

  • why cant my teacher be like you? lol :)

  • thank u!!

  • this really helped man

    thanks!

  • thanks you really helped

  • thank you now i get it but what about a factor tree? Can't you use that?

  • sure

  • lol u helped me out, for some problems for the 7th grade math homework, but... i'm still confuse on some stuff like.

Ex) 3y 2 to the power, 24y 3 to the power

  • I don't see how this works with variables... What if (on the first problem with variables) Y is a prime number that is also a factor of X? Then there would be the common factors of X and...

You know what? I just figured out how it works in my head. Thanks anyways.

  • ur voice is so good :p

  • my 6th grade teacher told me how to break down just last month this helps alot maybe i will stop geting 50's and get a 100!

  • cooolll thanx

    home work

  • Ty dude siiick guide

  • You rock dude......thanks for the help.

  • thanks for making this now i have a study buddy!!! your the bomb

  • thank you so much u helped with my trig!

  • man the meanest 6th grade math teacher is my math teacher!

  • thank you!!!!! u helpd me with my trig homework =]

  • Thank you so much!

    This helped alot : ).

Your really good! You should definitely be a teacher!

  • im still confused :(

  • Me too..dont feel bad. I'm such an airhead!

cant chat right now gotaa work

  • Maybe it just different in the classroom and that why I probably don't get it. Watching this vidoe made me feel better. I so get it now. Awesome math video.

  • thanks for this tutorial!! it helped refresh my memory for my SAT exam coming up in two months!! you're a great tutor! ( :

  • wats lavalife iloveshenaegrimes?

  • if you use FOIL on (x+2) (x-2) you'll get = X Sq. -4. try it!!!

He just factored x2 and -4. if 4 was positive it would be (x+2) (x+2)

  • dude thanks a lot.. i learned this in like 3rd grade... but you know as the years pass you forget some stuff.. so yeah this was one of those stuff... and because im in algebra two and i didn't know how to find the greatest common factor in polynomials

  • sure thing champ

  • man no hate am juss sayin have a nice day

  • What are you talking about? All of his math videos are amazing and not complicated at all. He explains everything in detail.

btw keep up with the good work (:

  • I thought the last one would be x squared.. then you did (x+2) (x-2) what process converts x squared - 4 to (x+2) (x-2)?

  • u r saving my life right now! :)

my math exam is tomorrow and my teacher doesnt teach at all she spends her time checking her email and going on lavalife and she jsut gives us worksheets. im in honors so its super hard. shes a freak too she eats ink.. literally

  • me too :D

  • your videos are sooooooooooo helpful :D

  • damn you went through those last ones blazing fast :[

  • at one point, youtube had a 10 minute time limit... so i had to hurry!

    and... u can watch again : )

  • whats arithmatic ?

  • math

  • thanks math guy way to save a day!

  • Dude nice your left handed

  • what is the gcd(0,0)?

  • Awesome video...I was absent the day we learned about this and I Was bombarded with homework the day after.. keep up the great videos!

  • You say exponent wrong...

the emphasis on exponent is supposed to be on "po" not "ex"

  • dont be a douche

  • you're also missing an apostrophe in the "dont".

    lol,but yea... that was douche.

  • maybe it's cos I'm English but I just find that you complicate issues too much.

  • cant please everybody all the time

  • True that.

  • @TheSamee well this actually helps alot beacuse alot of teachers out there require it done like that:)

  • i have a question im working with gcf in my algebra 2 class and we have to factor the expression i dont really understand how to figure out which gcf to use. can u help me? ex. prolbem that were using 25b^2-35

  • Hi, i made it to a spot in my math in GCF and i got to find the number that is not common between 9 and 3

  • i have this test tommorow and im in the seventh grade

  • good luck on it!

  • thanks so much

  • thanks ifor explaining for me it helped alot

  • thanks alot. i got just by looking at like the first like 2 mins. im in 6th grade and i had homework on it. we have a bunch of sholars in our class and my teach thinks she can go along in the year without even explaining it. u saved me!!

  • glad i was able to help!

and tell your teacher to slooooooooow down! sometimes, they think that if no one says anything, then it must be cause everyone is understanding! : )

do not be shy to ask questions.

as the saying goes: asking questions is a sign of intelligence!

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

    YOU ROCK!!!!!

Thanks so much, I have this test tomorrow, and geez dude! You helped me like so much!

  • xoxoxoxoxox!

  • wow thank you my teacher cant explain for 1 million bucks

  • ha! that is what my students say!!

  • Thank you so much. I have a review of this in school and you saved my butt!!

Your explanations are clear and the way you organize things on your paper makes things flow much better then any other teacher I've seen.

  • thanks for the nice words! i can only explain things the way i see them, which is often in very simple terms! : )

  • I'm pretty sure simple works for everyone.

I'm recommending you to my classmates.

  • thanks friend! drop me a line if you ever have any questions... although i am not promising any quick replies : ) i get about 100 questions a day!!

  • Nice job!!!

  • thanks now!

  • yes, the stress of making good math videos for the world out there makes me NERVOUS! : )

  • I like the way you deformed your sharpie cap :P
