I am not suggesting the govt should run our health care, but don't be so naive in making such a statement. The govt is using TRILLIONS of our DOLLARS right NOW! for things we don't even want.

We need 2 private solutions here.

1. A basic insurance that covers basic medical needs, medicine, regular check ups, eyecare, etc.

2. A separate insurance for emergency use only just like car or house insurance.

This would make both cheap and you can defice which you would like to have at your own risk.

Dental and vision insurance is always separate when you sign up for you medical benefits and both usually are about 20-30 bucks depending on insurance. Preventative care, regular doctor check can be added to that as well for like another 50 -100 bucks and you would have not co -pay.

Emergency insurance should be handled just like car and house insurance. IF you never use it your premiums should go down and it only covers you for EMERGENCIES. If you dont want it fine you are taking the risk.
