I get it. People want the USSR back cos they'll get jobs houses etc. then they say they don't want it back because the jobs are awful, working conditions are bad and the houses are shit. gorbachev wanted to reform the soviet economy..he wanted to follow what the chinese did back in late 70s n early 80s..remember..the chinese started to reform there economic system..the chinese abandon soviet style economy n reform the chinese economy into a capitalists style economy..sure the chinese still run china like a communists state..but china economy runs like eu n us economy..it allowed foreign investments n sign trade pacts wit most western countries..russia didnt do that back then.

Russia and Ukraine and all other former Soviet countries are much worse off now than if the soviet union was around. Today they suffer huge homelessness, orphans, drug abuse, and decline in population as well gangs and organized crime (which did not exist during the soviet union)!!!

The reforms this man did in order to meet his own political ambitions brought poverty, civil war and humiliation to Russia and Ukraine, let alone the other republics.
