  • Just because the light we see is red does not mean the light for the one truck was not green...obviously someone had a red light, but the video proves nothing. Many areas will have 1 way green, 1 way red so the green way can safely go through during busy times.

  • were they oth going to the same fire?

  • Remember, give way to oncoming fire engines

  • @TKLawThunder the engine completely blew the red light without safely checking the intersection first.

  • :))

  • No bitch its my Fire!

  • look at the traffic light its red, the engine coming towards you is in the wrong, he should have been prepared to stop,

  • that was so funny. and the other fire truck just kept going to the fire hahahahahahahaha

  • @1tonyota um no not really. the driver was obviously shaken up. you can see the truck never accelerated but just rolled a bit

  • What are the odds of getting taken out by another fire truck? Wow.

  • dame

  • 8 firefighters got hurt in this crash

  • I drove Fire Apparatus for 21 years as a Professional Firefighter. Plus, about 30 years as a Volunteer Firefighter. I NEVER ran a RED light driving an emergency vehicle. You must stop at all RED lights and blind intersections.

  • YES, we STOP at all red lights first. Then we only proceed if the traffic yields to us. The law does not allow any emergency vehicle to just run RED LIGHTS. I do not know your back ground but I was an main Engine Company No 6 driver for 21 years on a paid City Fire Department. If you run a read light and KILL someone you better get a good lawyer.

  • I thought you meant stop and wait for the light to turn green, not to see if the other motorists would yield. I guess it was lack of understanding on my part, I apologize.

  • Well this accident was caused because of both engins were blowing their horn and sirens and neither one of those could not see other coming cuz both thought it was their own horn and siren they were listen to

  • No, It was caused because the one of the Engines RAN a red light. The other Engine had the clear right of way with the green light. If the Engine would of stopped at the RED light and checked for a clear intersection the accident could of been avoided. Emergency vehicles by law can not just RUN a red light they must stop first. Then only proceed if the intersection is clear and people are yielding to them.

  • @trwmodela Well guys here in Melbourne Australia, all emergency services have a device fitted to their vehicles which makes it green lights all the way. They just hit the switch as they approach an intersection and go straight through it!

  • ouch, nice video

  • I believe the company that released this video was sued.

  • awesome video i like the video !!!!! awesome video a+a+

  • FAKE

  • nope.

  • black male at the very back in white tee simply kept walking like nothing had just happened after the incident?? lol

  • get the F**K out of my way

  • the other truck just kept goin

  • PHAILL

  • Same thing just happen here in Houston last week, injured 9 FF's and one civilian when the Ladder truck rolled on her.

  • keep it up

  • awesome video

  • i was inside that F engine!

  • This happened right outside of my school.

  • q putaso

  • wow, what are the odds of that

  • If two fire engines meet at the same point at the same time Who has the right to go?

  • hmmm....... green light??

  • @aleksankazakov I dont know if someone gav you that answer yet. But the one with the green light. fire trucks have to stop at every red light still to make sure they are safe to go threw it.

  • @aleksankazakov You always give way to anyone coming from the drivers side. Same here I guess

  • @aleksankazakov The one that has the green light. Blue lights and sirens are only a warning they do not give the driver the right to go barrelling through a red light.

  • @aleksankazakov They have the same right if both goes with the siren on, in this case was a driver mistake because they should reduce the speed and almost stop and then keep going, but who does that? no one.

  • Isn't it kind of mean just to leave the accident alone and continue to the emergency? I mean I know its important to get to the site quickly but since firefighters respect each other, it would be nice if that guy stopped to help.

  • Holy F###K! That was BAD! I seriously hope no one was badly Hurt during this. That's Some absolute careless driving On the part of both Drivers.

  • saw this accident on Tru Tv the other night. 2 different departments were dispatched for the same accident. both trucks carried 8 or 9 fire fighters. all escaped with minor/no injuries. neither truck could heard the others sirens over their own, or so say the information from the TV.

  • they were both stlfd trucks, 4 ff each. al with minor injuries.

  • There's no engine that carries 8 firefighters. And they were both St. Louis trucks. That's what happens when you believe everything you hear.

  • no, infact they were actually quints and 8 fireman were involved, probably 4 on each engine

  • go sweep the station or wipe on one of the trucks weirdo and stop playing on your mommies computer

  • ok?

  • these guys are always driving like assholes.

they have no reguard for the public...... dickheads

  • and if its u in a fire u just might want them to drive faster right??

  • Until your fat mom is the one needing help you'll understand why we need to respond quick. Could it be that the public has no regard for EMERGENCY VEHICLES!!! Dumbass!

  • That black guy leaning on the tree is now running from this department.

  • Yeah, I'm guessing someone is losing their driver/operator status.

  • OMG!! Code 3 or not you stop at a red light. Or at very least use extreme caution. This driver did neither

  • The IC of that response just lost two arial apparatus, as well as whatever units now must respond to this MVA... Code 3 or not, we all need to stop at red lights.

I hope everyone was OK in this - stay safe out there brothers.

  • I like the dude who was chillin at the lamp post. when the back side of that truck wheels round' hes all, "woah shyt!" lol

  • Well, I know when I'm going code 3 (lights and sirens) when we come to an intersection, regardless if we have the green light or not, we are suppose to slow down, and look left, straight ahead, and right. Make eye contact with drivers and then proceed WITH CAUTION through the intersection. I can see that they didn't do that. lol so someone has a lot of explaining to their supervisor.

Thank God no one was seriously hurt.

    Stay safe!

  • yeah same here. And when we pass an a fire station we have to get on the radio and say approaching blah blah (intersections name.) This was a big mistake and yeah someones in touble but its not at all funny. And to all who said lol or that was funny show some respect to us.

  • how the fuck is that funny. we respond to help selfish people like you and get hurt on the way and thats funny?

  • Dude, stfu. That was total STUPIDITY and somebody's ass in deep shit. What the hell was going on with the radio? We ALWAYS anounce our approach to an intersection over the radio when there is a possibility of additional inbound apparatus. Rookie ass move by BOTH officers.

  • haha who the f*** announces there approach to an intersection? Thats would cause to much radio traffic especially for a dept as busy as STLFD.....

  • You're a fucking idiot. We don't announce our approach to EVERY intersection, only when units responding from different stations may converge on a given point, which is EXACTLY what happened here. And our lil' town of Seattle does it all the time.

  • I LOL'd.

  • This reminds all of us A/O's to STOP for a red light and to use extreme caution at ALL intersections. Bad things can happen to any of us and the A/O who ran the red light is lucky he is not facing negligent homicide and the end of his career. Our lights and sirens only request the right-of-way, it does not guarantee it.

  • Barring deaths or injuries...that shit is fucking HILARIOUS!

  • iHoMiCiDe,

The one that ran the red light is completely at fault. Emergency vehicles are supposed to approach red lights with caution, stop, and procede ONLY if it is safe to do so. Just because you are in a big red truck with lights and sirens doesn't give you the right to disregard a red light.

  • completly 100% true. slow down and be prepared to stop at a red light. break it and crash and pay the consquencies, rightfully so

  • haha lolz

  • that driver deffinatly got fired the one who t-boned him

  • Well you clearly see who had the red light too... so at very least the truch who had the red light should slow down and look both ways.

  • ffryan, please, YOU shut up. we don't need you blabbing on this. and please don't type a paragraph

  • Wow, you sure told me.

  • wohocs, its not fake. its on the news all over the world !

  • Set sail for epic fail!

  • Are some of you people morons? how can you sit here and say this video is awsome??....thankfully none of the firefighters involved were killed!

  • just kidding

  • fake

  • If the dude who got hited would not slow down he woulda maked it with some centimeters :P

  • The dude who got "hited"?!?!?

  • where or how did you get this from the surveillance camera??

  • There is nothing that important that fire-trucks and police vehicles should drive like maniacs. Most of the time, these fire-trucks drivers are just showing off and downright speeding. And for what? To rescue some cat or squirrel caught in a tree. What a waste of resources.

  • When your home is on fire and all your posessions are slowly being destroyed... when your loved one stops breathing... in the middle of the night when you hear the footsteps of a burglar moving towards your child's room... in these situations they won't be able to get there fast enough for you and you'll be highly critical if they don't arrive in the timeframe you think they should. You know nothing about what emergency services do, so please get educated or shut up.

  • True. They do need to get to the scene in a timely manner .. But if they drive like this and they DONT GET THERE to help you, they dont do anyone any good. Maybe YOU should get educated!!

  • Buddy I've forgotten more about emergency response than you'll ever know, even if you live to be 100. The truck coming towards the camera approached the red light with their warning signals on and slowed down. The other truck clearly didn't see or hear them otherwise they'd have stopped. The soundproofing of a fire truck's fully enclosed cab section prevents them from going deaf from their own siren, it also makes it hard to hear sirens from other vehicles. That is what caused the accident.

  • The quint aproching the interseciton is obligated to stop at every stop sign/signal no mater what lights and sirens are on. they are only alowd to procced after the coast is clear. Never should you run a stop light with emergency lights on. iv had so many close calls doing it correct to even think to go threw without stopping. ppl on the road are just oblivious to everything!!!

  • You want a timely response, but responders shouldn't drive "like this". You can't have it both ways. You complain about our driving but if it took us to long to get to scene, that would be unacceptable too. You can have one or the other, but not both because that's not possible. That you are even suggesting such show me that you know nothing about emergency vehicle response. Every time those sirens go on, I put myself at great risk. How about you leave emergency resaponse to those suited for it.

  • I've been doing this for 19 years and the other posters are right. If you don't get there at all you don't do anyone any good. We're there to solve the problem, and not become part of it. There is a fine line between safety and speed and you have to know where that line is.

  • WHOOOAAA!!! That was cool!

  • So who do these guys call in case of an emergency?

  • GOOD STUFF!!! WISH WE HAD SOUND!!! WISH THEY HAD SMASH UP DERBY'S WITH FIRE TRUCKS. mmmmmm......IDEA!!! :-)

  • Well this is solid proof to all in the Emergency Services community, I hope we all learn a lesson from this: drive FASTER, none of this would have ever happened if the quints were driving faster, so stop being unsafe driving at slow speeds! Disregard what our lieutenants are telling us: "slow down", instead SPEED UP! it can save your life...

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahah

  • oops, I meant Human Error, even typing has human error lol

  • Too, funny some of the comments, Police Department policy state you stop at red lights, your not doing anybody any good if you don't make it to the emergency, case in point here, TWO emergency vehicles broken down and out, I would be pissed if my house burnt down because these two weren't aware of where each other was....It is HUMOR error here, you can't over drive....

  • yall down in texas we doin some frekin bad bean growin

  • im a firefighter at the lambert airport and the drivers tap on the brakes and they get hot then they cant stop. if u watch the video closey the engine coming towards us tries to stop but the brakes are too hot they cant. the front end come down to try to stop. it is nobodies fault it is technology's fault. if they had better brakes they could of stoped. so stop blaming people...

  • It is the responsibility of the chaufer to be operating that vehcile at a speed that he can stop at that intersection. This is totally human error! Hot brakes are NOT an excuse. If that was a a van full of kids and he hit it would the department just say "whoops. Sorry!! His brakes were hot" It is the responsibility of the Chaufer and the comapny officer to make sure EVERYONE gets there safe!Bad decisions that day sent 8 of our brother firefighters to the hospital.

  • No. Red means stop! In this case since you could not see beyond the intersection then you stop or slow down enough that you can make a complete stop to prevent a accident like this. I drive a fire apparatus so I know how it is. It's not much different than some of us trying to beat a red light in a car.

  • Both trucks should have watched while going threw the Intersection. However, no doubt the one never even slows down for the light. And as far as the comment about racing to be the 1st one in.Thats never a way a Fireman should be thinking. SAFTY SAFTY SAFTY. Must of been Voli's and their gung ho thinking

  • The Truck coming toward the camera is the one at fault. My department's policy is that you do NOT travel through a red light at a speed greater than the speed at which you can stop safely and only after coming to a stop. LAZYDOCKC you are a troll.

  • your a dumbass

  • and ur still a dumbass

  • They like to "run red lights" as do many "police" officers.

If you notice the "light was red" for one of the trucks and he never even slowed down.

  • So we can help you mama.

  • and "you" use "way to many" """

  • my chief would have been pissed if that would have happen to our department. hopefully all the fire fighters recover well

  • No communication on the radio??

  • One of the guys on the truck that got hit is a good friend of our department. He was banged up pretty bad. Hate to see something like this happen, but it does. Stuff like this happens when your racing to be first in.

  • i just saw that on channel 8 in las vegas

  • drunk drivers looks like to me

  • ???

  • this is crazy i saw this on tv!
