  • did honda think he can parry?

  • Evil match up for Honda

  • BORING................

  • John Choi......will your shell ever be cracked?

  • @egg64 ask daigo

  • can ANYONE explain to me why pro sf2 players do this? 0:33

why take like 3 or 4 blocked fireballs when you can do a neutral jump with almost no fear of retaliation and not take block damage?

  • @someguyhunter

Because fireballs in this game are very fast and their collision box is big. It's difficult for a char like Honda to get around them, even by using j.neutral + Fierce+fwd, not to mention that if you guess or misjudge the fireball speed wrong you'll land on it or get hit in the way up.

  • @ismael01866 who cares how big the hitboxes are? you are no closer to winning if you are just sitting there eating chip damage for 10-15 secs. better to risk some health with a random jumpin or butt smash than to sit there giving ryu free damage.

  • @someguyhunter Because they're scared that the dude throwing the fireballs fakes it and they get hit by a fireball anyway.

  • @Zeronum2 i know WHY. it just makes no sense. you wont win vs ryu who is zoning by sitting back eating chip.

  • @someguyhunter because ryu can change up the speed of fireball, it can be difficult and dangerous to guess. at about 0:37 you see honda try to jump, but he gets caught by the fast fireball. the danger in getting hit and knocked down is greater than 3 or 4 blocked fireballs. once down, ryu can move in for more pressure

  • this is ZONING

    2 jump ins 2 shoryus

  • The thing people don't get is that it takes a lot of skill to leave gaps in your fireball traps at just the right time. A lot of the time the gaps pro players need to react to a jumpin (with a SRK for example) are so small that it gets misconcepted as "fireball spamming".

  • THE PAIN IS REAL

  • Butt flop

  • @pjstyles86 LOL!!! who is that commentatoR? funniest comments ever

  • He's not just using fireballs to zone, he's also throwing them doubly hard because Honda is absolutely terrible against fireballs.

  • You'll always see dumbasses talk their snuff, however everybody seems to have forgotten that 2 out of the 3 top characters aren't even fireball heavy, not even Sim.

They don't understand the real concept of what a Fireball does, all they see is fireballs and go "Oh spam, so stupid"...yet they never realize they are the idiots.

Someone with a right mind would know that Ryu has always been one if not E. Honda's worse match up, ever since the two has squared off in SFII.

    Respect John Choi's Ryu.

  • but st honda is no match for st ryu... ryu has all the distance attack advantages and aerial counters to almost all honda moves...

  • @TrueSephiros Sim uses his Fireball to make his enemy jump around and make mistakes. He uses fireballs real heavy, if you watch any video of Dhalsim you'd realize that without his fireball, Dhalsim is A LOT easier to fight

  • @XxGonixXFAN dhalsim don't need to spam as much because he has great coverage on his limbs. Ryu's limbs dont have priority against characters without fireball.

  • @youziness No such thing as spam. Great comment, want the obvious hat?

  • @XxGonixXFAN its true and i dont care about terms like zoning or spamming, its the same. Fans like to argue between this 2 terms. But i didnt say the game is unfair because of that. If u say dhalsim is mostly fireball then u r wrong, no dragon punch and he is more melee than u think. Ryu use more fireballs than dhalsim because he needed to.

  • @XxGonixXFAN why not? Just because u can't do it without many fireballs? Spam all day with dhalsim w/o any clue and lose. Sim is more foot skills than anything. I doubt u are good if u make such comments.

  • @TrueSephiros I'm sorry but I have no respect for that win. He was being the biggest pussy the whole time and I like John Choi. That was just no fun to watch and was probably no fun for either player to play. So why are doing this again?

  • @nigmar ok sure, so if you play as Ryu against a Honda you wanna get in a good 'ol fistfight with him?

  • @Kinglsy

Ryu fireballs everybody before the bullshit throwing on block and all.

  • @nigmar "So why are doing this again?" money money money monay

  • @TrueSephiros

The first and most important idea of a fireball is to gain a hit advantage from a distance without needing to do much else.

The repeated throwing is to emphasise this fact above all else.

And it remains even in competitive play against ANY character, before you crap yourself on matchup, zoning, balance blah blah.

So shut it, you shotosperm anus face apologist and hypocrite.

  • @SeventhSun u mad bro?

  • Because John Choi is a master turtle. His zoning skills are pretty much unparalleled.

The one major flaw in Super Turbo is that turtling with projectiles is much too effective.

  • hes not spamming hes only using fireballs when hes far away, because its a safe attack. Every pro player knows that honda has a very hard time getting through fireballs, because he is a bit slow and his jump doesnt go very far.

  • ok youre wrong about almost everything. Only around half the cast in this game has a fireball, and half the fireball characters half to charge back for a second or two before shooting one. Fireballing is not a noob tactic, it takes a lot of skill. You have to have the right spacing, you have to sweep or dragon punch when they jump towards you, and most characters are capable of breaking through your defense, and forcing you to attack up close...

  • Also, Kusumondo is a very good honda player. You clearly dont know any of the match ups in this game. If you did, you would know that ryu's fireballs completely shut down honda and there's nothing he can do about it. I think that the other commenters of this video explained the situation pretty well, but for some strange reason, you just dont get it. As TrueSephiros said, "You don't understand the real concept of what a fireball does." Why do people think spam of any kind is stupid even if it...

  • can be a game-winning tactic?

  • flush22322 sounds like a whiny 12 year old who needs to educate himself a little bit about fighting games.

  • Everytime i see a counter pick i always see a damn spammy fireball character!! Dispose this game and put it in the dumpster GOD!!!

  • stfu

  • ironically, he's arguably the best Honda in the world. However, Choi is also a great player and counterpicks with Ryu.

  • Not necessarily a counterpick, since Choi mains Ryu. If he wanted to counterpick, he'd have picked O Sagat.

  • Kusumondo is top class honda, followed shortly after by Otohonda.

  • This just proves you don't know ST. Ryu is Honda's worst match-up. He shits on nearly everything Honda can do.

  • God DAMN! Honda seemed so helpless here.

  • This is more painful than Guile vs Zangief [@ @]
