yea, it created a seal, which over time it regulated the mix of the fresh water into the sugar water, where the culture gradually rose to the top. pretty tight seal
i have never seen that before, and never happened to me maybe the scoby or culture is causing a seal between the lquid on the bottom and the liquid on the top.????
