@Sarandaaaaaa Listen, Mother Teresa knew who she was and where she came from. That was enough for her. She was not a nationalist. She was the opposite of a nationalist. She was a soul who, though born to Albanian parents, gave her life over to serving humanity in its entirety. Speaking only for myself, as an Albanian-American, I'm sick and tired of this distorted requisitioning of Mother Teresa to racist, nationalistic ends. She lived in India as an Indian; she was a citizen of the world.

I think she would be appalled and embarrassed at the attention directed at her nationality. She did not choose to whom she was born or where. She chose to become well-educated and to transcend her circumstances. She used what she learnt to help others better their lot, to raise consciousness and increase awareness. Extremists use her legacy to make themselves look good.
