Samsung tvs are leaps and bounds over its competitors but who the hell is gonna spend $17,600 for a tv but some rich ass pro athletes. You can get a 65' plasma for $2,400. Do the math!
Nice tv, but overpriced as hell. A sharp 70le735u can be had for as low as $2800. Unless the picture quality is 4x better, I'd sacrifice the extra 5 inches for something way more reasonable. Oh and this tv is probably thinner, but still not worth 17k.
Oled is years off from affordability, i believe LG are bringing out a 31inch oled next year, probably be around the £6000 mark. Based on the fact the 15inch was going for £2000+.
@BeforeEverything That would have been an led backlit tv, this tv however has no backlight, each pixel generates its own thus creating an extremely vivid picture.
@nfkxxx no ours isn't backlit, it's edgelit... It's about an inch thick our tv. But no.. Only OLED creates it's own light, LED needs edge lighting or back lighting.
I could bet for 17600$ it is regular LCD. Nowadays producers cheats us by selling regular LCD TV with led back light as LED.
In 2015 this TV will be already obsolete (3D glasses required, no Ultra HD, no DisplayPort) and would not cost 1760 USD.

@nfkxxx This is an led backlit lcd, most likely edge lit as Samsung have a lawsuit banning them from using full led backlighting.

@DjMik101 For what it offers - not at all. Does one really need all of it? No. Is it cool to have one, however? Yes.
