I do not know a whole lot about computers, but a standard macbook blackbook has lasted me 4 years whereas my pc (that i paid the same amount for) lasted only 1 year. i now go for macs because they have worked better for casual use and gaming.

And a group of pc-fuckers who have nothing better to do than beat up on a guy who is trying to say macs are a little better than pc's is trollin'. noobenstein is not being rude so do the same. Just have a normal polite conversation, Husky would like that.

@noobenstein im going to be honest, macs aren't really that much more reliable. it all depends on how it's used. the average person cant always afford a mac desktop, seeing as how overpriced they are. you could buy a pc with the same specs for a fraction of the price as a mac. that being said, the target customers of macs are the older generations, used for more casual use than the younger audiences geared towards gaming and things like that. granted, this isn't ALWAYS true,it's most of the time

I'd disagree, Windows is aimed at an older generation, a lot less visual Fluff which old people tend to have trouble with. Macs are aimed at younger, less knowledgeable people.

I do think, Macs are fairly reliable in general, in comparison there are a lot more that can go wrong with Windows. There is a similar situation with Consoles. Developers love consoles because there are less hardware permutations. Macs just don't have a great market share cause of pricing.

Second, as someone else said, don't buy a pre-built PC, build your own and pick the components.

Third, not all PC's are huge either. If it was a full tower then yeah that's pretty big, but the smallness of your Mac also handicaps the ability to replace and upgrade parts.

Try installing a nice new GTX 480 or ATI 5870 in the back of your monitor and see how that works.
