he was in season 7 of buffy the vampire slayer and he was also in the movie waitress. thats all i've seen him in besides firefly/serenity. his name is nathan fillon.

He also starred as a doctor in Desperate Housewives. I don't know if he still is, or if it was just a guest appearance though.
