  • Not the Wisconsin I knew growing up. State is now full of leeches and losers that live off other peoples money. At one time it was a state you could be proud of. I'm sure that Governor will turn it around, but there are a lot of low lifes that will never get on board. So for them, enjoy the life of being an assistant janitor.

  • There aren't any Packer fans protesting in WI. Only the losers! Imagine a Packer fan listening to Jesse Jackson. What a bunch of losers! Too bad for y'all that the Team Party rocks and you lose!

  • so the rich pay the highest percentage bracket PERIOD. so, you think they should be paying 40% maybe? how much is too much? imagine if the govt. wanted to take half your pay check to pay for entitlements and welfare for non earners, or low wage earners..

i pay 25% of my entire check to taxes.. i want more money too.. no raise in 10 years either.. suck on those figures before you whine to the majority of us hard working individuals that have to fight for our rights as employees..

  • @scottson2 Please kindly define what a "low wage" employee looks like to you. I really would like to know.

  • check out the % rate they pay in 2010 for various wage earners...

  • To my friends in Wisconsin. I'm from NY, and I love you guys!..You've shown the nation what real balls looks like. Don't ever give in to this clown Walker. We are behind you 1000%! You are TRUE Americans! I've been to your great state a few years ago, and love the people there. They talk about Southern Hospitality; BULLSHIT!..I lived there, too..No comparison!..You're the real deal!..Don't take SHIT from these Corp. Assholes!..They're no patriots!..They're money grabbing scumbags!

  • Soon. Very soon. I think the protest signs will be put down, and arms will replace them.

  • They should be happy they are working! The governor was voted in to cut the spending and waste and the unions have made america poor while they get rich.It is all about Union dues and the workers should realize this. The Union bosses would close a workplace where no one would have a job instead of a cut here or there to keep the jobs for the workers see it all the time.

  • @codyharley1 Why don't we hear from you imbeciles on the right screaming about corporate loopholes, and no bid contracts; the greedy rich, with their money hidden in offshore accounts, mega bonus', and stock-option pay outs to Big Bank Ceo's and Wall streeters, who almost brought this nation to it's knees?! They have cost this country more in revenues than the Unions could ever come close to doing?..You've fucked with the working man for the last time!..The rich, will soon rue the day!

  • @cheezer57 The reason that youre not hearing form the Hard Working Middle class is, WE HAVE TO WORK, we can't abandon our jobs (and the children) to protest because someone is finally closing the preverbial cookie jar. By the way, most of the signs you have seen in protestors hands, were Georgia-Pacific poster board (GP is a Koch Industries company) Thank you for your support :P

  • hi from madison Wi get your asses to the capitol 3/10 9 AM be there wear black. thumb this up

  • Unions have rewarded mediocrity and that is why Made in USA has no value.

  • Wow, I had know idea that CBS News was so weak. They complimented Walker, who, by the way, no longer enjoys the support of police or firefighters. They talked about the splendid Republican tactics which, by the way, includes deception and media control. Nobody mentioned that wealthy people are primarily responsible for our financial crises while the middle-class are expected to "take the hit." Are these guys reporters or cowards?

  • yea this country of AMERICA IS DICTATORS they try to dictate how to live, what to think, and then tell you your in a free country

  • So we'll march day and night, by the big cooling tower! They have the plant, but we have the power.

  • Wisconsin protests become Washington debate-Washington debate BECOME all State problem the thief's are finally caught sorry no more REAL people hard earn tax dollars hands out the cookie jar is empty

  • Those of you who hate unions are crazy. Why do you hate people being aloud to demand better pay? If a company can profit and not share they are not true Americans.

  • @carnypimp The sad reality is...the unions don't exist for everybody that works their tails off. If they did, there wouldn't be a problem and everybody would be protesting in WI. Not to mention, for the few with degrees that can't get into jobs of their field, the long hour and little benefit kinds of jobs are all that their left with...if that. It makes them a little angry to be considered "low class" because others are lucky to have jobs and have the ability to "demand better pay".

  • @missiongirl87 They do exist for everyone if everyone agrees and votes a union in it federal lawe even in a Right To Work Law state. Your talking about the working poor tuff shit. Move where the few jobs are, and if your lucky one that has a union. If states would enforce labour laws people wouldn't need unions. Do you know how many illegals work at my place of employment? ZERO; because we snitch when the company cuts corners.

  • @carnypimp Thank you for replying to my comment and I understand your point. However, I wasn't talking about illegals. I'm talking about me, my family, my neighbors, and my friends--who are not illegals and some have degrees. Some are blessed with a union affiliate. Others have worked all their lives and haven't had a union to back them up. Just like you said, unions should exist for everyone.

  • @carnypimp It also does sting when people who are angry about losing benefits through the union come and complain to people I know who have learned to live without them. And it also is very insensitive of those who are blessed with union help to immediately assume that those who don't have it are "low class" or illegals. It just makes everybody look bad.

  • @missiongirl87 I'm making a big move today. I'm going from low paid union worker to high paid non union supervisor because without the union I can advance. Even though i'm leaving the union does not mean i'm against them. I just want the best bacon I can bring to the dinner plate. I still don't trust my company when we have record sells and no profit. No profit and record sells? Come on they are liars.

  • The Internet is being used to revolutionize societies. Tell your Congressman to rewrite the “Employee Freedom of Choice Act” so it uses the Internet to allow workers to request and conduct union votes DIRECTLY with the NLRB. Truly secret votes where employers can’t identify and fire organizers. Force employers to bargain with unions 30 days after a successful vote. Bring in an arbitrator 30 days later if no contract is in place. In 2012 VOTE for Obama, House & Senate majorities and pass it!

  • YouTube allows an upload to be used as a video comment on just a SINGLE posting. So please search YouTube for “Introduction to Teaching 101.mpeg”. Don’t know how much of my taxes are going to study public education, but Washington could save a LOT on consultant fees by just reading the responses to my above upload from hard pressed teachers from around the country. Teachers KNOW what is wrong with American education – career and politically motivated administrators do not.

  • THERE IS NO “FAIR” WAGE FOR TEACHERS. The closest we can come is that wage structure produced from negotiations between a strong teachers union and a powerful government body. Pitting a SINGLE employee against a powerful state government or a multi-national corporation is laughingly unfair. Only through COLLECTIVE bargaining between these entities can something approaching a “fair” wage be reached.

  • These stupid Labor Unions or dumb. Good thing I dont live in the North

  • I can see now that the Republican Party in general is a "dinosaur" that has no place whatsoever in a progressive society, particularly in this day and age. We should be moving FORWARD not 100 YEARS BACKWARD!!!

  • there are roughly 355,000 union members in wisconsin. let's say they all have one million dollars in net worth which is a high estimate. think about it, one million? that would make their worth around 355 million dollars.

the net worth of the koch brothers is about 17.5 billion dollars

scott walker's net worth is about 100 million. this one individual has almost 1/3 the high estimate worth of the wis union members.

you wanna call the unions a bunch of thugs.

    YOU'RE FULL OF BULLSHIT!

  • This is a perfect opportunity to initiate a general and national strike in the US. The idiots who subscribe to Ayn Rand and other right wing ideologues need to be reminded who the TRUE engines of society are, the 99% disenfranchised. Wealthy people only understand one thing, their own impending poverty. Time to make these sociopaths listen up and pay for their ravaging of the US!

  • There are a lot of young teachers out there who need jobs. Why dont we just fire the ones that are skipping school in order to protest and make way for people who want to work. Government unions are killing the states.

  • You right wingers shall be ashamed of yourselves! You ignorant bastards!

  • John Boehner will cry some more when us Dems kick his sorry ass!

  • Fuck all republicans who vote for a tax cut for the rich! You greedy bastards will hear from all of us! You should be punishing wal street you mother f--kers!

  • @padude64 People need to be aware of what the conservative agenda really is. Remove all rights form the workers and feed the fat cats and let them have their way. Its the new slavery in America. Wisconsin is the first step in this process. Resistence is NOT futile!

  • Gov. Walker is proving to be the same as Gadhafi, threatening military force against protesters. This is the true TeaParty government. Weaken the power of the citizen and call in the Guard. I have news for you Emperor Walker, the military is the people and will NEVER act against our own families. We swore an oath to protect the people and their rights, not your lavish lifestyle. To all supporters of Unions, remember the strongest Union of all..The ARMED FORCES!!!...is on your side!

  • Obama is an empty suit.

  • Politicians speak with their Wallet, not with their Mind

  • Why is there even a Government in Power? Our Government should be afraid of us,not the other way around, and American Citizens obviously don't know what our Govt. is doing behind our back (Iraq, CIA Drug Trade, American Imperialism, etc.) and why we have to step into everyone's business, even if it's nothing close to a threat, I know this is a Local Protest but hopefully it will inspire other to make larger changes, and I'm not talking about the Politicians who couldn't care less

  • God Bless the Republican party, they are the only ones who make any sense in this world. The rest of you liberal democrats think there is infinite money to spend. Yes the original idea of a union was great. Fair pay and benefits for all, but with public employee unions you are negotiating with my tax dollars. It's not the same as private sector unions such as GM. If any of you were smarter you'd get that.

  • He didn't attack fire and police because the unions are too big to take them all at once. Yes, he probably made a deal with them, for now. I assume he'll take care of the teachers union, then deal with fire and police, at least I hope that's what he'll do. They are way too powerful as well. This is not about the middle class, most of us middle class members, are not members of unions. This is about greedy union PIGS.

  • Thwe Union leaders have aggreed to do ther part and do what the gov wants EXCEPT dropping the negotiating ability. The Gov. said NO. This is 100% PROOF this bill has nothing to do with balancing a budget, but to break the peoples representation in the process of bussness. This country has it's own little "Taliban" in its own back yard. it's called the republican Party. God Help us.

  • Fire every one of them.

  • I disagree with the message, but I think it's great that people are standing up for what they believe in.

  • Dear people of Wisconsin,

You make me so proud to be American. Stand up for my rights as a blue-colar average joe American. Republicans since Reagan have tried to villify unions. Decent pay and health care, safe working conditions, etc. etc. are due to our UNIONS. God Bless you all

  • @smokethegange Being a Wisconsinite, I thank you for the support. Many members of my family are already in Madison protesting. Makes me sad, being two states away, that I cannot join them. If, however, those goddamn tea party members show up, I'm going to make an exception. ON Wisconsin!!

  • @EthanSurbaugh , you have no heart when too many people are on the street begging for a job

  • @smokethegange I bet you drive a Honda

  • @acms2000 Scott Walker is a hero FINALLY someone is standing up to the greedy public unions. You guys have had your day long enough. You have had your excessive pensions LONG ENOUGH. Private sector jobs do not get the kind of benefits that state workers enjoy. ALL STATES ARE BROKE!!!! Millions of private sector workers have had their pay slashed, why should state workers be any different?

  • @garek007 No he is a SLEAZE. The cops and firefighters gave money to his campaign. That's why they kept their NEGOTIATING RIGHTS. If the budget is so fucking important, why didnt he include them?? Simple, This whole thing is not about the budget, it's about stripping the middleclass of any power to negotiate their bussness. not to mention the unions aggreed to his concessions except negotiating rights. The SLEAZE said NO. Ill never vote another republican ever.

  • @garek007 Why are Unions greedy? Arent the corporations greedy for causing the American economic meltdown. Where was Scott Walker when the Republicans and Neocons voted for two unfunded wars and the Medicare package. WI public sectors are actually underpaid compared to the private sector. Besides, the protests are not about additional contributions by the public workers but the right to collectively bargain. Walker passed a 140M business tax cut while parading a 137M deficit, WI is NOT broke.

  • @acms2000 Unions are greedy because EVERYONE else has had to take a paycut EXCEPT public state union workers. Furlows are not pay cuts, you work less. a pay cut is when you accept less pay, for the same amount of work. Corporations did not cause the current economic crisis we're in. The stupidity of the average American who bought more house than they could afford are to blame for this crisis. The only corporations at fault at all were banking institutions. You can't blame them all.

  • @acms2000

In all truthfulness acms2000, I don't know what the balance is in WI. In CA, state workers are WAY overpaid, so I'm pissed off. I suspect it's the same everywhere though. Their benefits and pensions are outrageous compared to comparable private sector jobs, AND they make more. I see some of the dumbest state workers that do nothing all day and rake in a HUGE government wage. But collective bargaining here, is what led to this, so I think it's a good idea to do away with it in WI.

  • @garek007 Your comment has merit. Part of it is that some government workers are overpaid/and work less and rest of it is a PR problem. There is not doubt that the system needs reform, and government workers need to pay a fair share in pension and healthcare. I work at fort Sheridan in IL, and it really upsets me that I get paid 30K for work (with 8 yrs IRR), while independent contractors get 100K for the same job. Can you imagine if we had a right to collective bargain.

  • @acms2000 are you saying you are not with a union??? then why are you defending them? I can see where you would want the right to collective bargain, and in situations where employees are getting shit on, like yours, it makes sense. The problem is just when unions get too big, and too greedy, and will not budge. Admittedly, I don't know what it's like in other states, but in CA, it is a real problem.

  • @acms2000 OH yes, on the tax cut thing GOOD, I'm glad walker passed a tax cut. That is what SHOULD be happening. Taxes are high enough, the economy is down. If people have more money in their pockets, they will actually get out there and spend it (we know this for a fact because people sure can't seem to save it). If they spend it, the economy will actually start to recover, but for real, and without any of Obama's fake stimulus BS.

  • @garek007 Not sure if Tax cut is good deal. There is a whole political theory about Tax cuts called Starve the Beast. Check it out.

  • @acms2000 I'll check it out. But as a republican, my fundamental beliefs tell me that tax cuts are good, because workers have a right to keep what they earn. I don't like a lot of my money going to people who aren't willing to work to earn a living. I'm not saying that all poor people are deadbeats, some try hard, but there are a lot of freeloaders out there and I'm not willing to finance them.

  • @garek007 "y fundamental beliefs tell me that tax cuts are good, because workers have a right to keep what they earn. I don't like a lot of my money going to people who aren't willing to work to earn a living." And that attitude makes you part of the problem to be dealt with. You are either with the People or with the Tyrants, you can't have it both ways. Your 'morality' will be your undoing.

  • @eaodak You're a moron. I work hard for my money. I'm willing to lend a hand to my fellow brother, but I'm not willing to support lazy bastards who don't want to make their own way. In the end, I will be the one who survives because I'm willing to fight and work for my survival, unlike socialist pigs like you who just want handouts.

  • @garek007 Who the fuck are you to pass judgment on anyone. I'm not sure what scumbag way you steal your money, but I bet it's dishonest. May a Mexican drug cartel hang your head from your front door....

  • @eaodak Oh look, the poor uneducated guy has to resort to name calling, swear words and threats. See eaodak, you're probably an illegal, or you've got friends that are illegals. I'm not passing judgment, I'm just saying I'm not willing to fund you and your whole family from Mexico. See you're obviously poor and want to steal my money, that's why my comment hit home so much that you got all in a tizzy.

  • @garek007 Threat? Hardly... Uneducated? Wrong again! Boy, you are 100% successful at being 100% wrong.

See Wage Slave, it's not that you and I are in different leagues, we don't even play the same sport... Good luck on your long trip to the middle. Now go supersize my order Wage Slave before I complain to your manager.

  • @garek007 Oh, and nice eyebrows Loser! LOL!

  • If you've ever seen the Milwaukee Public School System and what a terrible job its teachers have done you will understand where Scott Walker is coming from. MPS is run by the teachers union. When layoffs were made to teachers in Milwaukee, my cousin(someone who was recognized as one of the best new teachers in milwaukee) was layed off in order to allow a more senior member of the union keep his job. The teacher's union in MIlwaukee is incredibly corrupt and isn't effective at teaching our kids.

  • In a bankrupt state no one has a right to borrowed money!

  • Teachers? No Union Pigs!

  • Tell Obama to keep his communist nose out of WI. The answer here for the Governor of WI is clear. Abdicate to the unions demands and cancel the plans to increase their insurance and retirement contribution. Two days later he can take the podium and fire 4000 public workers who can't add and subtract!

  • @atlantic654 Well said!

  • Everybody has to make adjustments for Obama, that's all he keeps saying.

When is his next vacation that cost us millions? Unions have not made our schools better. I don't see any of you liberals arguing that they have. You just want something for nothing, like always. Thank you Communist Broadcasting System for posting this.

  • Unions are an important middle class safeguard. They empower regular people, and because of that they must be crushed. Republicans and the tea partiers have show themselves to be nihilists and cranks who have decided that the faster we all hit bottom the better. America is swiftly becoming a banana republic, with all the money and power concentrated at the top and all the rest of us tearing at each other for the remaining scraps.

  • How do we flag these advertisements as SPAM?!

  • public workers are useless. unions are worthless.

  • @1217jesss

    You are useless and worthless.

  • @lruenger and the truth shall set you free.

  • @lruenger There is no budget problem in Wisconsin! You idiots need to do the math. I am an Art Student and can figure that despite the over 1.5 million dollars that Walker gave to corporations, last month, that STILL all Wisconsin debt could be eliminated if each resident wrote a check for $1200. I would happily do that to ensure that my State funding (appx. $23k per year) stayed in place. This is just Union busting and Walker spitting in to the faces of those who did not vote for him!

  • @sandpeople2001

Too bad you wasted your retort on the wrong guy. I think this comment section was glitchy yesterday.

I agree with the protests in Wisconsin. Wage and benefit negotiations can be conducted without busting the union and eliminating collective bargaining. Walker created this budget problem with his extended tax cuts.

That tired old Republican mantra "cut taxes" is not only non-stimulative, it clearly creates other budget problems - state and federal.

  • @1217jesss How are public workers useless? Do you even know what public workers are, or are you just some ignorant hater?

  • @Thisismyusername1010

Ever been to the DMV? You'll see how useless public workers are. And half those teachers aren't teaching kids anything, they are USELESS

  • @garek007 Then why are republicans Bitching about the teachers not being at work? You foolishness gives your self away. Have a wonderful day......

  • @6gu7 Yeah - you flagged yourself as the consumate democrat - who needs to be at work? -Just draw a check off of everyone else - and let the fool Republicans actually perform real work. Attention - Obama supporter on the dole.

  • @garek007 There are going to be some "useless" people in any profession. And by the way, I grew up in Wisconsin, and most of my teachers were great! I don't know where you went to school, but I pity you for having had such a terrible learning experience.

  • Don't worry, the firefighters and police will get their salaries and benefits cut as well. Just like the Ben Franklin said in 1776 said: "We Must Hang Together Or We Will Surely Hang Separately". Only dictators try to prevent the people form joining together.

  • @raguila11 Rights that have been negotiated should never be given up without some resistence and negotiation.

  • The protests are for teachers, municipal workers, garbage collectors, university professors, student workers and various public workers. Collective bargaining is a fundamental right of every Wisconsin workers - union or non-union. A Tea-Party governor's attempt to suppress rights of people is unprecedented and un-American. This bill should not pass and alarm every American at the draconian thuggery used by people in power to dilute voice of the masses.

  • @acms2000 Teachers Municipal workers, university professors? Ohh you mean communists! These people think their rights over ride everyone else's. What they really are is selfish!

  • @atlantic654 Based on your description Jesus was communist. Government workers are the lowest paid people in the country.People have a fundamental right to bargain, and a Union is the only way to do so. The way I see it, you sir are being selfish and Un-American. Stop spewing hate.

  • @atlantic654 Why are you calling people protesting communists? You should join your brethren in these protests against the corporate tyranny. If we didn't wage two wars on an faulty pretense, we would not be in this situation. Please don't call fellow Americans pretesting communists and join them. Republicans should be voted out for their disastrous handling on the American economy. I the give Republicans a grade F.

  • @acms2000 Ohh my you just pointed to the union facist failure at education- you give the Republicans an F? Sorry dumkoff the democrats have been in power in the congress the last 4 years and your Communist in chief Obama has held reign the last two and the country has never been more divided almost like that was Obama's objective -which it is-he is a terrorist against real American principles like truth and self reliance. The unions want their money - sorry honey that hag Peolosi spent it all!

  • @atlantic654 Why do you insist in calling me a communist? I do not believe in a system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common. What are trying to call me is a progressive - which I am. Unions are not objecting to paying their fair share for pension and healthcare, instead the argument is about the right to collectively bargain. Stop calling people names, and try to have an adult conversation. BTW - Glenn Beck lied, Obama is not a communist.

  • @acms2000 I want to know where the shared sacrifice is that Republicans like to talk about. All the cuts they propose fall on the backs of the middle and lower classes while their fat cat friends get richer and richer by the good graces of the conservative politicians. In the Bush years the gap between rich and the middle class grew, just wait till these new batch of Republicans get finished. Workers will have no rights and we will be working for slave wages at the hands of the rich.

  • @acms2000 Where in the constitution does it say you have a right to collective bargaining? That's nonsense. As a taxpayer I am sick and tired of public service unions dictating how much I have to pay them. If you are unhappy go get another job just like all the rest of us.

  • @acms2000 Maybe people will see the real Tea Party agenda.

  • @acms2000 They passed the bill already. They did it by making up new rules and side-stepping standard procedure.

  • @acms2000 Join this flash mob now. subscribe and sign on as friend for future calls.

  • @acms2000 Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?
