  • bonjour~ Je suis taïwanais... Comment allez-vous? I played the Electone for many years... and I love it very much you're played better then me nice to meet you i hope i can make friend with you thanks for your playing merci beaucoup~ sorry for the bad english and français...
  • ...oh my god... =)

  • here is another tip: do music no one else has performed!

  • he violette;)

you promised me a barefoot pedaling video of you at the organ;)where is it;)

  • Keep up the great work Violette, I look forward to hearing more!

Nick, Yamaha Instructor & Electone Examiner, UK

  • One more thing for now, try and use your right foot more. This will add an expressive dimension to the piece and will result in a much more 'musical' performance. If you are using an EL 70/90 you need to regain control of the expression pedal as follows: 1) the EXP.PITCH/MIDI button, 2) tab across to MIDI 3) change the EXP pedal menu from AUTO to INT. The EL 500/700/900(m) will do this automatically.

  • To improve the quality of the performance you need to pay more attention to the phrasing. Although subtle at times, it makes a huge difference when your hear a piece phrased correctly. Also, try and phrase (think) like the actual instrument registered at the time.

There were a few syncopated rhythms you missed during the performace (although I appreciate this was a live recording). There are some great rhythmic variations in the melody of this piece and it's a shame to gloss over them.

  • Hi Violette! I very much enjoyed your performance of Pirates! You mentioned in a previous message that you appreciate any constructive advice so I thought I would try and be of some assistance: (spread over a few messages I'm afraid)

  • THIS IS GOOOOOD111 i wanna marry you

  • hi~ anyone knws of any online sites where can i order electone bks for EL500? local music stores here only have books for stagea and nothing much for the older models..

  • All comments are welcomes (thanks for taking time to post them) : congratulations are more pleasent, criticisms could be constructives but they never make me stop playing organ... i like it too much ;-)

  • hey violette!! WELL SAID! You go girl :D

Some people to criticise without advice. my advice would be not to 'chase' the beat it makes it a bit of a rabbit in the headlights performance. also play each instrument as it would 'be' played. flowing, melodic, expressive and power where needed without detaching the notes too harshly.

  • I think you have done REALLY well here but performance disks are notoriously finnicky things. use them as a guide and make alterations to suit your playing style. btw your english is excellent :D check out my music btw, only the one there but Im taking a chance posting that, hence all the mistakes :P hehe biggest one being, piano on 49 notes? not bright lol

  • I made these videos in order to show people what we can do with an organ, and for my sister which is living far from me. I know it's not perfect, because i'm always stressed when someone look at me when i'm playing. And i think the video's bad quality is for something too.

Organ is a hobby for me and i'm happy that these videos allow it to become the hobby of other people.

  • write criticism in here by all means, but PLEASE do not attack the girl, shes done a wonderful job with the settings given on the performance disk. Personally I hate the things as they touch sensitivity is usually set for the person who made the disk... NOT the people who will be using them hence the melody fades and dies in parts. This results in staccato because of the extra effort required to hit the damn notes. She does not profess to be a professional.

  • Ive been playing and teaching for 33 yrs and its comments like centreback1985 that puts people off trying. constructive criticism goes a long way if written more amicably. As I said shes NOT a professional and doesnt profess to be.

  • Sincere apologies. I made the first post that this was garbage, I mistakenly put these comments on the wrong video! oops! there was another guy playing this on a Roland Atelier and I meant it for him! (His organ sounded awful!) So sorry, I can see your performance is on either an EL-900 or maybe El-90. You did a brilliant job! Well Done. I've ordered the Electone Book from Japan for this arrangement. I will favourite this!

  • i disagree..

the start's pretty good but as the song quickens to the climax you can hear the lack of practice. she was unable to keep to the time (missing a bar in fact) n she was unable to connect her melody properly (listen carefully it is overly staccato-ish) n this manifested in the unwanted stress at the longer note values. (the jarring loud chords at the end of each segment)

  • IMO, she is able to play the notes and keep to the timing generally but more work is needed on the expression. especially in the strength exerted at the longer note values. good effort but not brilliant.

  • load of garbage Yamaha Stagea Rocks! this sounds like a 'Herdi Gurdi' in comparison! Roland: 2nd Rate to Yamaha.

    The plain truth!

  • Hey Cool. YOU're AWESOME!!! GREAT Arrangement. Did you make it yourself? A fellow Electone PLayer. I was a 1992 Electone Finalist and I own an EL90 at my house. I still love it as much as the day I got it 15 years ago. I had the opportunity to play the new Roland Atelier for about 3 days and recorded a pirates of the caribbean medley on it. Check out my page to see/hear it.

  • it's a yamaha sheet music

  • Cool , bien joué !

  • i Hope and would be glad;)

  • can you do a barefoot pedal video where you can see your barefootwork;-)??

  • i will try for next videos...

  • yes do you play barefoot?so carol9821 aren`t you able to answer me?

  • yes i play barefoot... because my shoes make some noise when i touch pedals and i have got a better feel without shoes

  • Hello.

Could you please tell me the name of the book and disk that you used for this performance? I'm guessing it's a Yamaha book and software disk?

    Thanks!!

  • Sorry but i've got this sheet from music teacher which is in another school. I don't know were it comes from. Maybe you can find it into the electone_catalogue.pdf avalaible on the japanese site of yamaha (yamaha-ginza)

  • Salut a toi,

tres bonne interpretation des pirates !

tu pourrais me donner l'adresse internet du site ou tu achetes tes partitions :)

    Merci d'avance

  • Désolée, mais il n'existe pas de site français où l'on peut acheter les partitions yamaha. Pour les commander il faut passer par ymaha-ginza (japon). La marche à suivre est indiquée sur le site de "ggbmusic"

  • I think I just fell in love XD

  • Very Awesome! I love the Electone. Nice instrument.

  • wow!!!

  • Carol9821 has quite a little foot fetish thing going, doesn't he? Pervert.

  • Great job. Would love to hear more! Couldnt see much of your foot work on the pedals. (Need more light) Do you play barefoot on the pedals?

  • I made this video with my webcam, so the quality is not really good and i didn't find a better position...

Some other videos are recorded during concerts, where it's easier to record the foot work (as mary poppins, which will come soon).

  • Nicely done!

  • that was pretty good. cn you tell me where did you get the music sheet and the music registraion/discett??

  • I use yamaha's music sheets : they come directly from japan (disket is sold with the sheets).

But for me in europe, it's very hard to get them ... :-(

  • wow.. it's brilliant !! super
