How to upload a Custom Rom to your Dell streak (aka any Android Device)

It doesn't work,, after you press the shutter on software update screen, it says you need an UPDATE,PKG file, use the volume up to power off and thats the only option I get..,, so the zip file streakdroid5 doesn't work for updating, so bas,,, any suggestion pls??

alguien me pasa un tutoria de como instalar el open recovery ya que hice todo lo del video y cuando quiero ingresar al open rec.. para hacer el update me dice q no tengo un archivo pgk o algun formato parecido este es mi primer dell antes tenia el motorola milestone 1

If you guys have problems on doing the flash recovery and keeps on going straight to emergency bla bla bla. You need to root your device first, then download root explorer. Open the root explorer then go to etc/ look for a file called update. Then just put _update and it should be fine.

@maclog09 good post, just to add: to not to get the emergency pop up, just hold the volume (+ and -) on reboot, and not the volumes button and power button as she stated; just the volumes button.

somethings wrong i did everything you said but when i go to the screen around 2:50 is all different like if it was messed up, all it says bla bla bla bla sumthing about emergency reboot n all i can do is hit up on the volume to turn off phone? please help

Hi, i uploaded streakdroid 2.0 on my Dell. Its working quit fine accept my Home Button doesn´t work ^^ The Button with the house. It is not returning back to Home Screen. has anyone else the same issue?

I'm running stock 2.2, everytime I boot into cwm and pick the option boot to .zip, it says the sip cannot be found. I have tried naming it update.pkg, keeping it named streakdroid-5.0, and yet my phone cannot seem to find it....any help would be awesome!

@Whut4ful when you get the message zip not found on the bottom of the message there should be an option which allows you to manually search your sim card...try going that route.. if not try renaming to install.zip
