These guys are way tighter than Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth together. They where and are the best Thrashband (for me). Greg Christian is a beast on bass.
Ive been listening to these boys for 20 years now and they just keep getting better..i still get the shivers when i see and hear them. TESTAMENT FOR LIFE
@biglhot75 and @sagedrummer. I am completly with you guys on those statement. Lars Ulrich did set the standard for the new generation of drummers, and ...AJFA was one of lars's best albums. and in my opinion so was the black album. but thats me.
The drumming on ...And Justice for All is some of the most musical and innovative drum work ever put down on a metal album. All the haters who are just referring to speed or power need to realize that there is more to drumming then that.
All I gotta say about this Dave vs.Paul debate is 'The Gathering'. Dave's best metal performance. Some of you will come back w/ Reign In Blood but I feel Gathering is more interesting from a drumming standpoint. Now I fuckin' love Paul too His work w/ both Testament and Slayer are amazing. Also lets not forget Forbidden! 2 excellent drummers.
@FancyJesus666 ive heard that for so many songs for so many freaking bands they didnt stel just because it is in the same tuning or is on the same mode or scale..
I don't think anybody is questioning Dave's technical proficiency. Personally, I just prefer Bostaph's style; he seems a lot tighter. Dave's playing has a much more "off the cuff" feel to it. I've just never been a big fan of that signature "Lombardo fill" (the one where he seeingly hits toms at random at 200+ bpm.) It never felt very musical to me.
I could see Dave having a tough time stomping a Bostaph drum part like the beginning to "More than Meets the Eye."
A Spinal Tap moment is based on the movie "This is Spinal Tap", which is about a fake rock band and all the mishaps and pitfalls they experience on (and off) the road. It's hysterical. in one scene, they're in a basement or something, trying to find the stage at one of their concerts, and just keep going around in circles, while stopping to ask a janitor from time to time. Great stuff!! Hope this helps!!
Imagine u're driving your car when suddenly u'll hear this song on the radio?? i'll go fucking insane

Everyone is ripping on Lars, and while I agree that he is past his playing prime, lets not forget that he set the standard for todays drummers.

I agree that Bostaph is technically better than Lombardo, but Lombardo player on the better Slayer albums.

Yeah, Slayer really isn't Slayer without Lombardo. But I do like Bostaph better in general.

why does the beginning sound almost like slayer?
