I was redirected here from a Sumi Jo video singing the same piece. These two ladies bring different qualities to this piece. Yunus's voice is richer and more syrupy but I'd say I prefer Sumi's thinner, crystalline tone.

Chinese is officially referred to people with Chinese citizenship. But Chinese is more widely referred to only Han Chinese. Therefore, Dilber is Chinese according to her citizenship, but her ethnnicity is Uighur. Ckear, no more arguments about this.
Dilber is an Uyghur, not Chinese. You can say most of the area that Uyghur people now live is ruled by China, but they don't identify themselves as Chinese. If Dilber sang badly, would anybody insist her nationality or race?
While visiting Cairo a few years back, I met some university students who were from Singapore. They may have gone to university in Egypt, but that didn't make them Egyptian. Dilber is Uyghur culturally, and Chinese by nationality.
I agree with you. I felt the same thing when I attended her recital in Singapore. I bought a tape of her in 1986 in Beijing. Her voice was natural and purest.

If Uighur brothers and sisters are oppressed in China, how come she is so successful and Rabiya is a millionaire there.

I was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Taiwan, so don't called me mainland-chinses. Anyway I've loved Dilber before I know about her bio!
She's great! Far better than Sumi Jo =]
