  • @mammarose..If your organization is going to have an open door policy, then you cannot choose your members. The GS will be forced to accept heterosexual young men. This is not the environment the GS founders had intended. The GLBT crowd are on their re-education camp training missions trying to reprogram our children Khmer Rouge style.

  • I completely love how radical religious fruit cakes argue against science but when it comes to something that imposes on their values, they're all for it lol.

  • Good. Another educated and humane individual. How can people be so COLD and full of crap to say a person is not free to be themself just because of their genetics?

"Nope, he was born a male. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Science is absolute, I have no moral standing. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope."

It makes me sick to know individuals along this method of thinking still draw breath. God forbid THEY be the ones repressed into being someone they're not.

    F*** the sytem. They're GIRLS.

  • @Coldchill83 I strongly agree with you. And I will also add that people who argue that human sexuality was "done by god to be Female XX and Male XY" are terribly wrong. These guys forget that not every human in this planet was born XX or XY. There are people who are XXX, XXY, XYY, X0 and so on. This is called aneuploidy and makes us a little more diverse. Not even talking about the fenotipic variations. (Hermaphroditism induced in the womb). So... why bother so much about transgender people?

  • Thank you for posting your response. Excellent job!

  • O.K., so it's "impolite" (your word) for us to state that an individual is empirically male or female (genetically, structurally, hormonally -- in any way you care to define) EXCEPT for the fact that they claim to be something COMPLETELY OTHER than what they actually are, and yet we're supposed to take you as completely sane and serious when you say that we should accept a man who tells us he's a woman as an actual woman (or a woman as a man).

  • @LambdaKore "in any way you care to define" - so someone's mind doesn't matter? Yes, you presuming to define someone else instead of listening to them and trusting them that their experience is REAL is extremely impolite. Trans people and gender queer people exist in many different cultures and periods of history, and slowly science is catching up to give an explanation. Meanwhile, you can either choose to respect others or dismiss their lives and make assumptions.

  • Thank you for making this video. *loves*

  • You're super awesome.

  • You're terrific...and I agree 100%

  • Thank you for making a thoughtful, intelligent and well spoken response. I wish more people spoke in such a meticulous manner.

  • Well, gene or not, I'm sure noone becomes a transexual for fun. Why would a person go through so much trouble if it was just for fun? I can't believe there are people this sick and inorant in the socalled enlightened part of the world.

  • @DanielThomasM ---- From experience, it's basically the opposite of "fun."

  • I bought 20 boxes because of that bitch

  • The Girl Scout Law: I will do my best to be honest and fair, friendly and helpful, considerate and caring, courageous and strong, and responsible for what I say and do, and to respect myself and others, respect authority, use resources wisely, make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout. I just hope the adults posting here will also be respectful, considerate, friendly & caring to those troops who do decide to sell GS cookies, not judgmental. Good troops, great girls!

  • how sexy is he? fuck

  • @lizard944 Don't know about a "gay gene," but the hypothalamus of a transgender or transexual girl (male-to-female) is closer in size to that of a female than a male. (This means their brains identify as female.)

  • Thanks for throwing this up.

Defense from cis-gendered individuals means a metric fuckton to trans* people.

  • @lizard944 It is easy for the developmental cycle of the genitals to go wrong, this is just a fact of life, congenital defects can affect any part of the body. There are, as a matter of fact, people born with xy genes (male) who are born without a penis and are assumed to be girls. This does happen, you can deny it all you want. What are we to do with these people who have been raised as girls, are considered by everyone to be girls, but at puberty will not develop as a girl without hormones?

  • @lizard944

Search "Transsexual gene link identified" on the BBC from October 26, 2008.

That was only the first one that popped up. It is still an understudied subject.

  • @Travel4Whit "It is still an understudied subject."

I would agree with that, but it is hardly an unknown subject, and most certainly not "up there with the validity of the Unicorn." I was only trying to get him to recognise that there are intersexed people who's gender is indeterminate at birth. But he lumps intersexed in with transgenders (he clearly doesn't understand the difference or how one leads to the other, and frankly I don't think he has any interest in becoming less ignorant.)

  • @Travel4Whit ....As soon as they discover the "gay gene," then maybe I'll have an inkling of interest in looking that up. Otherwise, I'd rather not waste those several minutes of my life on this lunacy.

  • @lizard944 "As an individual in the medical field, I already have sufficient background on this."

    O RLY?

"....then maybe I'll have an inkling of interest in looking that up."

So basically you just admitted you actually don't know anything about this subject? What medical training do you have exactly? You are in the medical field and you have no interest in expanding your medical knowledge?

Oh.. you're the janitor at the old folk's home, aren't you...? yeah that doesn't really count.

  • @lizard944 Have you ever heard of the term hermaphrodite? Someone is born with both chromosomes or both sexual organs, unable to have children due to their conflicting organs? Where do they fall under this because they often are "gender confused" when they really had their gender chosen at a young age, which could conflict to their gender relation as adults?

  • @caromarie91 Have you ever heard of the phrase "apples to oranges?" Do try to focus on the subject better.

  • @lizard944 That's my point. Someone who is given a gender at birth, despite the possibility of either isn't always understood when he/she identifies with the opposite gender they were given. Why is it wrong for someone else who pyschologically identifies with the opposite gender?

  • @lizard944 What "science" have you been reading? Where did you get that idea?

  • I kind of like the fact that you were nice about ripping apart her argument XD I haven't heard too much about this particular issue, but now I'm going to make it a point to buy some girl scout cookies.

  • The sad thing is I like the open nature of the girl scouts but i think that the idea of forcing genders roles in any situation on a child is damaging for their development. I don't get why we have boy/girl scouts rather than just scouts. The idea that men hunt mastodons(dead for 11,000years)and women bake and sell cookies seems a bit archaic. Not that i don't think they have lessons outside of that.I was in boys scouts for 2 weeks before they explain to me what a "man" was.I didn't like it.

  • Da hell?

  • Fantastic video! Thank you!

  • Thank you for your thoughtful and well spoken response. As a former Girl Scout I concur. And thank you for reminding me to buy Girl Scout cookies this year.

  • Great response video.

I haven't bought Girl Scout cookies in years, I will by a few boxes this year.

  • This is one of the best responses I've seen to that video/boycott. I'm going to buy cookies in protest!

  • Thank you for making this video. I love GS and I love GS cookies even more! As a matter of fact I'm buying twice as much this year as I normally buy.

  • @lizard944: Oh, the naïveté...

17β-estradiol is NATURAL, naturally appearing in the bodies of men and women and naturally extracted from yams, causing natural female development in human beings. Class dismissed, LOL! ^_^

  • @lizard944

Following that same line of logic we could say that all children born by artificial insemination are not natural. So then do you not count them as children?

I would hate to be the one to explain to them that they don't exist.

    Yay, extreme absolutism!

(caution this post may contain sarcasm)

  • @Travel4Whit There shouldn't even BE artificial insemination, if you can't get a kid, fuck you and adopt one, jeez..

2nd thing: You're an asshole for supporting this, how can one ever support this? Oh yeah i forgot, you're an American, what KIND of fucked up parents transgender their kids anyways? They should be killed on the field..

The world is so fucked up today, wish the world would go back in the 1920's, being a fagg at least wasn't acceptable back then.

  • @lizard944 And where do intersexed individuals fall in to your "one is natural, and the other isn't" dichotomy? Should a child who was born without a penis, and who was assumed to be a girl at birth and raised as such, be forced to live as a boy when they discover she has an XY gene? Or because this only happens in about 1 in a 100 people is it a small enough group that we can simply ignore them?

  • @SirMildred76 Stop, you are making my head hurt. Just because you want to use vocabulary gymnastics, doesn't make your fairy tale stories more credible. And for the XY "gene" scenario, no medical studies have EVER produced those findings. That is as big a fallacy as the "man who got pregnant" bullshit that was posted last year. All of your "Area 51" conspiracy crap is just making you look like a bigger assclown than we give you credit for.

  • @lizard944 So you not only go with "ignore them" when it comes to intersexed individuals, you actually want to claim they do not exist. Sorry, there have been countless of studies covering a variety of intersexed conditions and our understanding of intersexed conditions as it relates to genetics goes back several decades. Klinefelter confirmed intersexed conditions based on an XXY gene SEVENTY YEARS AGO.

Before you make such an idiotic claim, you might want to research it next time.

  • Certainly a better response than I would have come up with. Thanks.

  • Very well spoken. That misinformed, brainwashed girl who called for a boycott would do well to listen to this guy's well reasoned arguments.

  • They call themselves Honest Girl Scouts . com yet there argument is based on the misconception that transexuals are somehow threatening. We're talking about a 7-year-old child; how threatening could she be?

  • @sbflash311

I took just a peek at that website and I am frightened by the potential morass of a debate with anyone from there. Really they are fighting multiple issues of their own perception but the site has a very fundamentalist "learn these facts, be loud, and don't listen to anyone else" look to it. (Maybe facts is too strong of a word)

When they are incapable of listening they are not usually worth listening to.

  • @sbflash311 Because seven year old little boys go through puberty and become 14 and 15 y/o boys who would still have to be admitted into the Girl Scouts. Would you want some flake of that age, who can't even identify what sex they are, around your seven y/o daughter?

  • @lizard944 Girl Scouts are divided by age. There is no chance the 14 or 15 year old boy is going to be in the same group as the 7 year old. Frankly, for years when my now grown children were little they had slumber parties both at the same time all in one room, male and female. One of their little friends was gay and he was jsut as welcome as anyone else. The key is supervision of children. Children are chldren.

  • Wow! Well spoken!

  • You are charming and amazing. Thank you for this video. :)

  • <3

  • Thank you for making this video, it means a lot to me to see cis people argue for trans right not because they have a stake in the matter, but because it's the right thing to do. Congratulations on being a stellar human being.

  • I think I will never take another bite of a girl scout cookie without schadenfreude either, now that you mention it! Well done and thanks:)

  • I think you're fantastic.

  • You're incredibly articulate

  • You are awesome.

  • @Yankeegator

Your perception of the current depends on where you are in this metaphorical river.

Throughout history there have been currents for and against almost every major idea in society.

Bravery is about overcoming mental adversity. We know little about the girl who made the original video. It takes courage to put your face out there with a message but considerably less courage if you think the world will agree with you or don't care what the world thinks.

  • Excellent and rational rebuttal of the boycott video. Thank you so much.

  • Like the video creator, all of these smug assholes "thinking"... is the problem.

  • There is NO SUCH THING as "transgender" regardless of all of the Liberal claptrap you've obviously been indoctrinated to believe. If you have a penis you're a BOY, if you have a vagina you're a GIRL, and other than a true genetic freak of nature, there is NOTHING in between.

  • @o3shooter Unfortunately, the people who believe in this transgendered nonsense are mostly young, impressionable, gullible adults who can easliy be talked into believing that the moon is made out of swiss cheese. These are our future leaders. God help us.

  • @lizard944 This coming from a guy who believes in angels and devils. God help you.

  • @TheNeutral1979 Infinitely more believable than your "it has a penis but it is really a basketball, because that's what it believes it is, " moronic conspiracy theories.

  • @lizard944: So-called "boys" and "girls" are androgynous down to their homologous tissues and cells until acted upon by hormones responsible for sexual dimorphism, hormones which we can block or replace.

Why you care whether someone's manhood or womanhood comes from their gonads or their prescriptions is beyond me.

  • @Death2Evil {Why you would care.. manhood or womanhood comes from their gonads or their prescriptions}

You making assumptions that do not necessarily apply and using language that makes it appear that those who disagree want to force people to their will. People have the right to do as they please, but this also includes the right of association.

Why do you 'care' who the GS cares to associate with?

We are arguing about the validity of a premise, not who gets to sic the law on whom

  • @mindprism: No; I do not. One's gender identity is absolute, be it male, female or other, and those who oppose this do want to force people to their will. People have the right to do as they please. Corporations are not people, and if they were, then the right to association extends only so far as it is not discrimination.

    Because discrimination is wrong.

All evidence to the contrary, as you support policies which are, in effect, the law.

  • @Death2Evil I am talking about the girl scout in the video, not the GS corp. People DO have the right to discriminate in who they associate on any basis they choose. The GS in the video is exercising her rights.

As the saying goes, you may not agree with her, but you must support her right to do so -- if not, then you are compromising your own right to associate.

  • @mindprism And if she were complaining about a black girl being in the troop, would you have the same opinion. If she has so respect for a transgedered or a black peron, she should leave the Girl Scouts. No on has the right to exclude others in a public forum based on hate. It;s called civil rights.

  • @shenadoa {It;s called civil rights}

This is where, I think, the incidental collides with the actual- let me explain.

Miss America Contest is a corporation also, if they were to discriminate due to plastic surgery -- in another context, yes, you would have a civil rights suit. The Girl Scouts WERE about being GIRLS, not Feminine people -- no biological girl was ever kicked out for being too boyish.

The latter part of that is proof they are not violating C.R in the manner you speak of

  • @shenadoa You might also explain what you think qualifies as a civil right. Not 'what', but rather 'why'?

Does a church have to allow satanists in its organization? They are a corporation.

  • @mindprism The issue will be decided in the courts. Our opinions are superfulous

  • @shenadoa You have no answer to my question about the qualifications you are using when you say 'civil right'?

  • @mindprism: In that case, fine - both of you have the right to be bigoted and ignorant. But, once again, you're WRONG. This is why we have civil rights movements and discriminators are frowned upon in society.

Join the KKK if you like, but all you'll ever get our of me for it is a big "FUCK OFF, LOL!" I'll finish with this: You have the RIGHT to fart in a crowded elevator, but that doesn't mean you SHOULD. ^_^

  • @Death2Evil Well, if your going to hate everyone when they are wrong, I'm afraid you are going to be hating far more than any member of the KKK.

Oh, wait, I forgot -- you only hate when they are wrong about certain things. Sacred cows of YOURS.

How inconsiderate of people to offend your sensibilities like that. Hate is the answer to whatever you consider to be hate -- great.

  • @mindprism: 'Fraid not, chum. ;*) I educate -- NO H8. ^_^

Oh, wait, you forgot -- I'm White as the driven snow, and I just checked the KKK. Racists are MY Sacred cows, LOL?! This is what we call "choosing your battles." If you are/were KKK, and want to take it up with me, then "FUCK OFF, LOL!" is all.

I think I covered this; "I educate -- NO H8." Review: "...androgynous down to their homologous tissues and cells..." If you choose bigotry and ignorance, then LOLOLOL!

  • @Travel4Whit

i've seen a lot of your videos. interesting that you are at your most articulate here. interesting that you are at your most focused. for me, meh. your response takes no courage. it's in line with the thinking of most people these days. not to say that is correct. passion like this is always expressed fully, knowing legions are behind you to support you, with equal fervor. the person that is standing alone calling for conviction has the most courage and the most to lose.

  • I completely agree with your well-said and articulated response to that video and much like this hot dude in Japan I will make it a point to buy and enjoy girl scout cookies this year.

  • They should have like a Jesus camp. For all the people who identify as Jesus.

  • Thanks for your response. Did you see the one about the Asian guy with a sign that says Boycott Rice. Hilarious parody to this very serious and comment-getting topic.

  • thank you for being so calm and level headed, world needs more people like you.

p.s. if you really want girl scout cookies i know a gs leader, i happily carry a cookie order sheet with me to work this time of year. i'm sure we could make something work. :)

    share the cookie love

  • @mindprism

If you believe it and act accordingly without making demands that often works.

  • @Travel4Whit Yea, perhaps I should rephrase it and ask:

Is it SANE of me to ASK people to treat me as such just based on my say so?

Lets go one step further-- were any girls kicked out of the scouts for not being feminine enough? Then why are they letting people join on such criteria?

  • @mindprism

It is not simply what you say that dictates how people treat you. It is how they perceive you and your concept of self has a great influence on that because your actions are based on your concept of self.

So you can ask people to treat you a certain way and that is perfectly sane you just probably won't get the result you are looking for if the rest of your actions don't fit with it.

And your second question, sorry no data on that.

  • @mindprism It isn't just a say so - there are heavy biological evidence that transgendered people DID develop differently. Try reading about it. The science is heavily in favour of Transgendered individuals being accurate in their assertions.

  • @Erynnsilver I don't see how the 'realness' of TG has any leverage on the logic I am arguing here - at least in my last post.

If you are going to discriminate against boys who are not girlish enough, then you must do the same for the girls.

    How is that nonsensical?

And we have yet to touch on the concept of "bi" gendered. What is "girlish enough"? What is "too boyish" -- maybe the girl is butch.

  • @mindprism: So-called "boys" and "girls" are androgynous down to their homologous tissues and cells until acted upon by the hormones responsible for their sexual dimorphism.

But even after puberty, one can acquire majority sexual dimorphism of the opposite sex via cross-sex hormone replacement therapy, meaning we can effectively change our biological sex... That is, if you're holistic in your science.

  • @mindprism Think of it this way. When a girl scout organization accepts a girl into the group (A girl who has all the right parts and thinks of herself as a girl and is [we'll just throw this in there] straight.) ...does the girl scouts check to make sure she has a vagina before allowing her to join? Nope. They simply have the attitude of "I know a girl when I see one." And that's it. Why are you so against them changing their ideas on who can join when those ideas were from the beginning empty?

  • @SandBarAndYou {Why are you so against them changing their ideas}

Ah, a logical leap that is unwarranted. You might as well claim I object to people banging their heads against a wall. Be as dumb as you want, whether *I* have the desire to stop you is moot.

    {I know a girl when I see one}

So, no tomboys in the Feminine Scouts then. See, we are just debating the underlying logic -- no value systems involved here.

  • @lizard944

The answer to your question is actually probably no. In this theoretical example we are talking about an anatomical male who identifies as female. That would be another interesting question though.

What if you had an anatomically male child, who dressed, acted like and identified as a girl but wanted to join boy scouts? Because she has a penis can she put on her favorite skirt and go to the boy scout meeting?

  • @Travel4Whit Boy scouts and Girl Scouts have completely different sets of rules and are not the same organization. Boy Scouts are not inclusive whatsoever. They won't even allow a troop leader to be a troop leader anymore if they find out that person is gay or has had a gay relationship.

  • @lizard944 at that age children don't have a sexual identity in terms of being attracted to the opposite/same sex but that doesn't mean they have no gender identity. For instance a child who was born biologically female but hates dresses and would prefer playing with G.I. Joe or going to a sports camp. Or on the other end of the spectrum a child born a boy who would rather go to ballet and play with Barbie. This has little to do with sexual orientation and far more to do with personal identity.

  • @lizard944 Gender isn't about sexuality. That is a very, very different topic.

  • @lizard944 Sexuality and gender are not the same thing. Sexuality has to do with sex, gender has to do with maleness and femaleness (and anything in between). Gender has little to do with puberty. Gender is the sense of maleness or femaleness that a person is born with. And your solution of intensive shock treatment and a male figure can't change how somebody is born.

  • @lizard944 Kids know whats up from a very very early age. Anyone different from the majority knows this is true - gays, transgendered. Scientists know this as well. Kids are much smarter than you think. When they realize that their experiences do nto reflect what everyone else is saying their experiences should, it becomes clear that something is intrinsically different. Reading books will help you know it too. Read some and obtain knowledge.

  • @drewplanner As an individual in the medical field, I already have sufficient background on this. If you brought your male child into our office claiming that he was a female, we would have you locked up for a psychiatric eval against your will.

  • Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are organizations that separate young people into genders, obviously. They enforce the gender binary. Should everything be destroyed and remade to accomodate people who are opposed to the concept of gender? I don't think so. I think that our overzealousness political correctness will eventual destroy everything we hold dear. Political correctness has become a cult and must be tempered with reason!

  • About 5 total radio flyer wagons provided a sign of "Support GSA and transgendered equality" is attached. If the wagon idea is no good, then I will donate to the GSA for the number of boxes sold distributed over how ever months it takes to get the number of boxes at a rate of 1 box = 1 dollar. Personally, I'd rather just donate wagons myself, but a message does need to be sent of endorsement quickly so as to show the public that support of this decision is from te average joes who agree with GSA

  • I'd like to make a suggestion. How about, instead of allowing any boycott to go forward, effective action is taken by which individuals or small groups donate money to buy out as much girl scout cookies as is possible and submit a letter of endorsement to both the GSA and to media outlets supporting the GSAs decision to allow transgendered youths into the GSA itself. The cookies bought can then be distributed to low income groups or families. Is this a reasonable idea? I'll buy and ship>

  • You are very eloquent and I thank you for stating what you did...

  • I think that I want to call the act of buying extra Girl Scout cookies in protest of her video a "girlcott".

  • I can't believe youtube banned that girl's video. What fascism!

  • @hithr3000

I think it is probably in her best interest on a personal level because there could be a lot of extreme videos from the other side. With the excitement of debate over such emotional issues hyperbole could soon lead to downright nasty bullying and as a teenage she doesn't need that.

The use of personal attacks as a form of argument is such a common internet past time it is dangerous to the teenage ego.

  • @Travel4Whit You seem like a really nice guy and I like you, but your explanations seem labored, overwrought, presumptuous, and somewhat more narrow minded than you realize. Like the vast majority of the media, Youtube has a history of liberal bias - THAT'S why they banned that girl's video.

  • Thank you so much for this video. You are very articulate, and I admire how you state your case diplomatically and eloquently when the topic at hand is so heated. You have a clear, rational head on your shoulders. The world needs more open minded people like you. Thank you again.

  • What a great response! I had the exact same reaction as far as buying the cookies. I hadn't given them any thought in a long time, but NOW I will seek them out. And I will now do everything I can to support my granddaughter in joining as soon as she is old enough. Thank you to the young woman whose bigoted video brought a whole new positive attention to the Girl Scouts... not her intention I'm sure. :)

  • I am a Girl Scout Leader and any girl who wants to be involved in Girl Scouts is welcome to join my troop. I have girls of all shapes and sizes and, no, I have never checked to see if any of them had a penis or not. They giggle, they do skits and they are accepted for who they are - differences and all. Because my troops accepts all girls, they have learned about ADD, autism, weight, height differences ... and they still all like each other! Give girls a chance to be accepting and they will!

  • @amomincalifornia Do you accept girls who are in fact, boys?

  • @amomincalifornia Personally, I think you should be jailed for child abuse of the first degree. If you're so into equality, can we send your seven year old daughter to bunk with the Boy Scouts? Hell, why stop there? Send her to a men's homeless shelter alone...since everything is now acceptable and there are no boundries in the Wild, Wild West.

  • @amomincalifornia Some European transgendered girls, like Kim Petras, have had surgery in high school so by the time they're 18 they are anatomically female.

  • @ekgsmalls13 why dont you lock your child up in her room so she doesn't have to be exposed to things she will eventually have to face?

  • @ekgsmalls13 being trans is a real life issue, and you're daughter is not being "subjected" to it. In fact it's none of your, or your daughter's, business who anyone identifies as. How someone identifies themselves does not affect you. You're daughter probably doesn't even care, and if she does it's because YOU taught her to. Children only see the truth, and she sees this transgender girl as a girl because she is one. It's ignorant people like you who TEACH children to hate others like that.

  • @ekgsmalls13 You my friend are ignorant. I guess this world would be real awesome if we just ignored all the stuff that didnt make sense to us and kept to our own. I mean youre a parent so you can do whatever you want to protect and teach your child.

but try not to teach them the guidelines of hate. Discriminating someone because they have a dick or vag or both is the same as doing it for color. At one point even all the races in this country where the .001%

  • test

  • communicate their plight due to poverty, adult negligence/apathy, or isolation? Just because it is hidden from you does not make it acceptable.

  • because we know of the dangers that these drugs movements cause to innocents. Some can clearly see why owning or using a gun is not acceptable or humane behavior, this is somewhat understandable. People can see that because solid facts and arguments are brought to light by those who are able to articulate and lay bare the facts about these types of issues. So what is so hard to understand about shunning the male homosexual tie, and giving some semblance of power to those who are unable to

  • responsible for so much pain and suffering throughout history? It is an absolutely backwards, sadly dysfunctional approach to becoming a better person, because you are now injecting your energies and efforts into a system and economic circle designed to stifle and crush very young people into silence, subservience, and even criminality or death...all that more closely. A no brainer if the premise of six degrees of separation makes any sense to you. Some of us choose not to use illicit drugs,

  • and overwhelmed by the sight of the pure love shared between two women. At such an early time, he understandably wants to be just like that, and leave behind the mediocrity that he may have come from. But choosing to become a girl is prepubescent overkill, like a mountain of sugar on one's cereal, and those parents should have stemmed that tide into making him a more responsible, sensitive man. On all fronts. It is the same as Lesbians who try to live as men, why would you mimic those who are

  • as former victims who are now empowered and well adjusted...well then the glare of scrutiny is reduced exponentially. It is really a time to step into the zone of 'discomfort', and stop letting our fear of not seeming 'evolved' enough keep blinding us from the staggering plight that far too many children/toddlers living beneath the poverty level or in circumstances beyond our current comprehension face on a daily basis. his child was obviously starstruck by the affection shown by his new parents

  • Middle East, to get a clear view of the magnitude of this problem. Let's face it, we are not about to let the child rapists and murderers that are presented in mainstream media walk free and commit these heinous deeds in the name of 'open mindedness' or 'enlightenment', we as a society apprehend them and lock them away at our own expense (another topic). But, it seems that, if like minded individuals present themselves as misunderstood, intelligent, non threatening contributors to society, even

  • Until people can shake their fear of not being considered 'cool' or 'hip', or 'sensitive to others needs', this will continue to be a huge problem. People are so busy trying to prove that they are open minded and not controlled by conservative, church based thinking, that they are ignoring, or unwittingly being distracted from the cold, hard facts of the matter. All you have to do is take a look at underage sex trafficking in Cambodia, Vietnam, Phillipines, Europe (East or West), India or the

  • are pandered to by the sex traffickers and pimps who cater to there pederast needs. This has been the case for centuries now, and cannot be ignored or glossed over. Having lived in a heavily gay area of the States at an early age, I was forced to come to grips with the fact that the world is not composed wholly of what is presented in books and mainstream media. That, as children and youth, we are vulnerable to exploitation, and in fact, actively sought out by those of homosexual orientation.

  • someone who has seen the mind boggling apathy and complicity of pseudo intellects and social climbers/leeches toward the inappropriate minglings of mainstream society and homosexual, transgender society (not Lesbian). This is not a simple matter, so let's throw out the blanket, 'Let them do what they wanna, you're just a homophobe' routine for a moment, and stop pretending that this is not a mind boggling, intricately formed situation. The facts are, thousands of gay males profit from, and

  • are probably presented to the world with certain 'blinders' in place, so as to make you more acceptable to the world in general. Thinking in a more humanitarian, Third World stance, you may become more aware of the dangers that the male homosexual community presents to the child population of the globe via sex trafficking, sex tourism, and it's associated, more grisly factors. This is not the Bible thumping, brimstone spewing pseudo-opine of some hick religious fanatic, this is the viewpoint of

  • I see you trying to seem intelligent here, but the term 'educated' fool keeps coming to mind...the child in question here was raised by a lesbian couple, which I suppose is not the absolute worse situation to be in as a child. Too bad they are playing into the desires of male G&T's, it always saddens me to see them (Lesbians) duped into cooperating with them. I have to question your real world, international exposure at this point, it would seem that you, as a person of U.S. descent,

  • Brownie/Cub/Boy/Girl Scouts are Christian organizations (I think right?). That said I agree with you. We don't get to really choose our gender and if nature does a "half-step" what harm does it do? Maybe people discriminate because they are scared--they probably don't understand... or its part of *animal* nature to weed out 'imperfect' beings, emotions aside.
