The only thing I could say about this game is that. Its pretty scary if you play it in the dark with high volume. The darkness and the music builds up the atmosphere that, evne the replica soldiers scares me.

All because I couldn't see them in the dark without the flashlight. Genereally, to those who doesn't think this isn't a horror game. Think twice before saying "It's not a horror game". Its a FPS/Horror together and I hate when people come up with bullshit saying "THIS GAME AIN'T SCARY"

Althought F.E.A.R is scary.. and quite freaky. (I only installed and played it for about 6 hours so far) I've got to say. that Doom 3's very simple "You cannot have a Gun AND flashlight" at the same time. proved to be a very easy trick to make fear a room. I get a lil scared playing F.E.A.R but i reassure myself knowing I've got a gun and a flashlight lol. Good game and well deserved award. Good Vid and even thou music changed. still fits.

Just because I don't think something is scary doesn't mean I'm an idiot. Of course I play at high volume, because that's what all horror games advertise to do. There's rarely atmospheric music apart from during combat, and the only thing higher volume does is amplify the boring gun sounds and terrible voice acting. Sure, there are static effects and weird high-pitched noises, but that doesn't nearly make it atmospheric enough.

My argument still stands: Play Penumbra. Even the tech demo.

I've completed fear 1, it was scary and intertaning. And now i've tried the Fear 2 demo, that was very scary in the start and that's only about 15min of fear 2 :) But i would say Fear and fear 2 ( as what i've seen) is mostly physiological scary, but you also get some schocks sometimes :)

Meh, I could never get behind FEAR as a horror game. It was a pretty sweet action game, but no matter how off the wall things could get, as long as I'm a gun-toting bullet time-controlling superman, there really isn't anything to fear. The atmosphere might have worked, except there was no real thought to it.  I honestly found the dream sequences in Max Payne to be more disquieting than this, mostly because I could never stay on the fucking blood trail for more than 4 seconds before falling.

Overall I never been scared by any Resident Evil game but F.E.A.R. scared the crap out of me at some parts and my freind almost had an heart attack at the beginning of the game.

Moral of the story.... Horror is best done in First Person.
