One of them for woman is to wear hijab to safeguard herself. I wear hijab to represent my belief and to obey Allah(SWT). I want to swim in the ocean and and feel the sand on my body (it's a good scrub) ;) ... I wish to get tan sometimes and stay athletic, which is easier if you wear 'breathable' apparel. That's nice. First of all, there are many rapes in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other Muslim nations. Esp. in Saudi Arabia, many of these cases go unnoticed due to censorship and humiliation that women are subjected to, this is why they prefer to keep quiet.

As well as that most Western women can easily be independent, while in Islam, woman is suppose to depend on the man. Some women choose to pursue higher education, they want to contribute to our society scientifically or intellectually, challenge the widely accepted male perspectives. Besides I found a comment under another video which pretty much is spot on if it comes to the hijab issue: "If men had clean hearts then women don't need to cover themselves. Therefore Women covering themselves in Islam is a statement about the lust in mans heart."
Therefore if any of you fancy more exposed woman and you mind us wearing hijab simply go and find something more suiting your needs and leave Muslim sisters in peace. Simple as that.

Listen I'm the most Un-PC person, I spend most of my free time study Islam woman and their oppression. This is their culture and their way of life and I respect their modesty more than I respect half naked woman flaunting their sexuality for negative attention. There are many aspects about Islam I despise namely Sharia. Muslim woman have a long up hill battle but fighting the veil is the least of their worries!

@mumuzuzu We cannot be responsible for people who are using Quran and islamic law to opress others for their own benefit and it is wrong. However there are some fundamental rules you have to obey. One of them for woman is to wear hijab to safeguard herself. I wear hijab to represent my belief and to obey Allah(SWT). I chose to do it out of my belief and my knowledge and I believe it is the right thing to do.

I ( an Aussie) totally support a woman's right to choose the Hijab. My only opposition to the burqa is that in most sightings, it's black. That would be extremely hot, particularly in Australia, half the time. Is it permissible to wear a white burqa?
