I cant get the slider in the middle of the two tracks to appear. The one where you slide left or right to mix between the left and right decks. Can anyone help.

@00stuckes the crossfader on the mixer! go to preferences and put everything on "internal" ie internal mixer etc.

@00stuckes go for preferences than output routing and than change from external to internal,do not forget to put your self on internal mixer on the main panel,but thats only if you want to play useing your laptop or pc. ;]

@00stuckes You didnt say if you were using a midi controller, sometimes i find that the mapping can be a bit skewed ie if its x-fader left then software fader is hard left or hard right if X-fader is on right, with no smooth x-over between 2 decks i would go back and have another look at the settings jus in case as this happened to me in ableton live

Hi, I'm new to dj / mixing and I'm slightly confused at what I can do with this software. With this software would I be able to make remixes of songs with effects etc and then save them as individual songs, or does it just allow you to play a song and mix it into the next one?? Any help on what I can do with this program would be appreciated. Cheers.

@CJK17 Essentially this allows you to use your vinyl turntables/cdjs to control music that is on your computer. By controlling the music I mean adjusting the EQs and mixing songs together, that is basically all a dj does. A dj/producer on the other hand actually makes beats/songs/remixes. I suggest you look up electronic music production. Most big names in electronic music focus more on production than actual djing.

Hi, I'm new to DJing and using Traktor Duo with a Numark OmniControl. Everything works well except for the jog wheels which DO NOT work at all :(. Is that normal? Is it because I need Traktor Scratch to use the jog wheels? Thanks for the help

@logitech9041 The Hercules RMX is not junk. It's a very popular controller ... you just gotta play with your settings within the controller software ... It may have some compatibility issues with Traktor. I used the RMX with Virtual DJ flawlessly for years with very little adjusting ... You can get the home version of VDJ for free from the VDJ website if you wanna try it out ... just a suggestion :)

bought this yesterday i'm having trouble running it. i ran it through demo just to see if it worked and no sound is coming out of my speakers only the tone. also do we leave our amplifier and speakers plugged into the master of our mixer or do we hook it up somewhere else. sorry i'm a noob to virtual vinyl. if any of you hip cats could lend me a hand it would be much appreciated.

the difference is, only two decks for duo , not 4, its a stripped down version of traktor. go to the website its all explained there

TSP is a 4 channel mixer and TD is a two channel mixer and has less FX.

TD is made for use the audio 4dj of native instruments, so if you just want to use the software, any soundcard with 2 stereo channels can work, is great to control that with a midi controller aswell.

its normal that it doesnt work. You have to map the midi controller with the traktor software. Maybe there is some file of the midimap done on the web... go to google :)

@blacksamu90 If Virtual dj is just a "toy" then how come I've been able to flawlessly mix between dub-step, techno, house and breaks. I gave up with traktor, it just kept messing up/getting pitches wrong constantly. all im sayin is ive used both and also I can use my iphone 4 with Virtual Dj
