@malcolmwesson - like much in our country, the Police Officer "leading" the parade symbolises that we are not a military dictatorship and that "civilians" are in charge of our democracy. Only a symbol. And very easy to sneer. But we should be grateful for what we have compared with so many other countries. Sure, could be better, but it could all be a whole lot worse.

Hi Drummajor2000 Its Retrofan1 Here I have just watched your video clip of the Massed Bands Pipes & Drums on their way from Wellington Barracks to Perform at Beating Retreat 2011 on Horse Guards Parade This Year for once I know all the tunes which are the Purple Pageant National Emblem & Wellington I don't know as yet what music was played on Horse Guards But if you were there could you let me know thank you

Excellent video! I usually get the creeps when I hear a band sounding so good in the distance because the sound generally gets overmodulated when they approach but in this case it is perfect. Congratulations.
