In my opinion, I like RTS more, Such games like this are a little too complicated for me. And the scale isn't right, big ass people and mini houses. But then again, thats because it isnt a RTS.

I just can't get into this game. I have no clue how to play it. I bought it when it first came out and I feel ripped off sorta. I prefer good old Civ 4. But if I ever learned how to play, maybe my opinion would change.

I don't know, maybe my brain is damaged, but I really prefer how the original Colinization looked... 3d graphics and Civ-type games just don't go well together for me. And ship inside a colony looks just retarded. Just as a Native warrior being bigger than his village that he is defending. But anyway it's still great that they decided to come back to Colonization!

Well I was more impressed with the music in this game, its fantastic, sounds like they got a period band to play that Tudor period English music. At least I think its Tudor.

Plagues are naturaly spread threw any body of people without the right sanitary measures and resistances.

The armies of the period used to wait for there men to get threw deseases before heading out so they wouldnt have to deal with them in the field.

I've spent endless nights on the first colonization and really want to get this new one but it appears to me that the "in-town" menu isn't as great as the old version and the music isn't either, anyway it will probably be even better than the old colonization and hopefully help me get of this fucking poker-nights. The Dutch rule this game.

this game is fun and challenging buy it trust me its cheap and fun its abbout you getting sent off to establish a coloney then you have to defend it from king/queen becuase you will start a revolutaion and when the king comes you have to fight him off

civ4 blows civ3 out of the water. its a much better game! civ4 colonization is really cool too... its a different sort of game, but really fun and addictive to play.

its its own game. u don't need any other gamer to run it. iuts only about 30 bucks, and its stand alone, just throw in the CD and install and away you go. u do not need to own the previous civ4 game to play it.

Actually I don`t think it`s possible - CIV4:Colonization is a stand-alone addon, so you don't need a full CIV4 game (Right now I don`t have a Burning Sword to compare with this game, but it look`s like there is no chances to do it).

Actually they fight same as in Civilization 4 game, nothing new here (cause it`s a mod (standalone) of CIV4).

Not so sure ... I watched another clip (declaration) and it seemed cannons were not used as siege weapons but simply attacked one-on-one. Is that correct? Interface looks a bit like a headache but I suppose one can get used to that. Did you win a game yet?

Yes, you are right, but i was trying to say, that there is no BIG differences between CIV4 and CIV4:Colonization in a gameplay - same game core, same graphics, same similar interface... similar combat mode (as you say, cannons don`t stands for siege anymore). BUT there is something new - it`s an old Colonization atmosphere, but in CIV4 shell. So if anybody like old Colonization game, this game (overall) definitely is worth to play.

And there is so many ways how to win game...

the game is different because there is a huge emphasis on economy and trade. it is more like u are running a business... war is a sometimes a neccessary extension of running ur biz, but it can be potentially crippling in the blink of an eye.. i like the way this game is made, and it is NOT like playing the others in many ways. but the graphics are similar.

"Custom Game" and "Play Now" has this maps: A_New_World and Carribean maps (from Tiny to huge map size).

"Custom Scenario" and "Scenario" has this maps: Northwest Passage; South America; Western Hemisphere (Huge); Western Hemisphere.

But you can get a random see level, climate and other stuff in a settings.
