Actually, being overweight is NOT a cause of life expectancy reduction.

Being obese (50-100 lbs above normal) is bad

Being UNDER weight (15 below) is WORSE.

Recent studies show that overweight people (25-30 lbs above, e.g. ME) live as long and often longer than normal sized folks.

Just look around. Most people 80 and older are overweight. Those extra pounds offer lots of different advantages to your longevity.

So, maybe you should just read more. I'll probably outlive YOU.

Actually, most people who are overweight and have these issues are actually obese. I've been the same weight since high school. I exercise regularly, drink moderately, don't smoke or do drugs and I see a doctor steadily. I don't have any of these issues, and nether do my overweight 80 year old parents. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not in any danger of dying young, though I might be if I had the stress of suddenly changing around my routine to get skinny. Thanks though :)

You don't have to be an "innate" member of the church to be excommunicated by the RCC. Anyone who is born into the faith (which he was) or merely claims publicly to be a believer (I am now as before a Catholic and will always remain so) can be excommunicated.

Even if this werent the case, the RCC hasnt so much as denounced the Nazis, yet theyve found time to denounce birth control, condoms, spooning and the Avatar movie.

The Christian faith of WHITE people was a contributing factor to the very CAUSE of slavery. The bible explicitly instructs us on the obtaining, handling and treatment of slaves, and was a constant reference when other countries inquired about our "right" to own other people.

Actually the Christian faith ended up causing a barrier to slave trading when African slaves first started converting, because Christian tradition forbade holding other Christians as slaves. That meant when they converted they had to be released. Then the Dutch and English colonists had the idea of considering them subhuman (as you mentioned), and this idea spread and was used to justify holding them as slaves.

African slaves weren't forced to give up their identities, their religions or their NAMES.
